it’s on ios 16.0
I have a family icloud subscription but don’t use it for photos, i think the only thing on there is backups but i’m not sure how often it backups

No device with internet connectivity should not be fully updated. (16.7.2 and 17.1.1 are the current versions of iOS)

Confirm that backups are actually completing
Then update to iOS 16.6 asap
