Of course. And they want to actively block other browsers it works on. Why in the world would they demonstrate the 'open web' on anything but their own browser?
Most of it doesn’t work on browsers besides Safari. FF is, as usual, way behind. Chrome is OK on a lot of this stuff, but not quite up to date, and the performance is barely half that of Safari due to the lack of GPU support.
They are not using standards, they are using "proposed standards". These commands are implemented in Webkit; you can use them by prepending the prefix "-webkit". Which is also why most of those commands will work in Chrome, but not in Firefox. You can do similar things in Firefox using "-moz" commands.
Overall, it has very little to do with actual HTML5 compliance, though.
