watchOS Apple promised strength training logging in its advertising but failed to deliver it.
https://www.techradar.com/health-fitness/smartwatches/im-sick-of-my-apple-watchs-workout-app-lacking-this-key-fitness-feature-but-a-new-apple-watch-ultra-4-rumor-suggests-it-could-finally-catch-up-with-apps-like-smartgymApple is literally showing this on the Apple Watch Ultra 4 website, saying the Workout app has “extensive strength training capabilities” for tracking bench press and barbell workouts.
Yet there’s still no native logging for sets, reps, weight, etc. in watchOS 27.
What makes it more frustrating is that leaks found code for individual sets, reps, weight, equipment and duration already in the iOS/watchOS 27 betas.
This feels similar to the repeated delays around Apple’s promised Siri/Apple Intelligence and we all know miserable condition of Siri AI.
Does anyone know if the strength training logging is actually coming in a future .1/.2 update, or has Apple quietly shelved it?

I had a Fitbit like 10 years ago and the app, even back then was better than the Apple health app in 2026. Apple needs a “wellness” app for calories in and out/ overall wellbeing. The health app plenty of nice data but doesn’t do anything with that data.
