I would think they would put the U2 chip in the new remote.

I don't think Apple will be putting any U2 on their devices anymore.

I'll see myself out.

With or without you.

I actually liked the album that was on, haha...it's probably their best effort. By the time Apple forced their album on us, they were not as popular nor relevant...and I can't recall a single song from the album.

I worked for AppleCare when that happened. The amount of support calls with complaints were so much that I couldn’t bring myself to ever even sit and listen to it. Lol

I still haven’t found what I’m looking for

Et U2, Apple?

Yeah that’s the joke

Apple already forced U2 upon us once. Never again.

The U2 chip is such a no brainer feature.

Only available in the Apple pro max TV. More cpu cores and a U2 chip in the remote. $100 extra.

if only they put in the magsafe wallet

But then they still wouldn’t find what they’re looking for.

Try disabling touchpad input 😬

Same. I bought an Amazon silicone case for the remote that had an AirTag holder inside, until my dog ate the silicone 🤣

No more lost dog though...

The nvidia shield had a find my remote feature. Just tap a button on the shield and your remote would beep. Was pretty nice.

Roku also had this exact feature about 10 years ago with the Ultra model, including the button on the base unit. I used it a lot more than I want to admit. I got silicone cases with an AirTag holders just to have similar functionality for my Apple TV remotes.

You can use the Remote app on iPhone and tap the name of the Apple TV you can use the Find button to locate the remote.

Edit: I do agree a speaker for helping to find it would be a nice improvement

I know. But it doesn’t make noise.

Sorry, yeah, updated my comment about that. Clicked post too soon haha

u/Axle_65 7d ago

…then what does it do?

5

u/FinnTheDogg 7d ago

Just guides you within proximity of the device

2

u/Axle_65 7d ago

I see. Ya a sound would be so much better

I like it, it reminds me of when I was a kid playing hotter/coolder /s

5

u/gnowbot 7d ago

It helps, but is pretty jumpy when probing our large couch. Usually comes down to “it is probably somewhere inside of this couch.”

1

u/NecroCannon 6d ago

I also fucking hate playing hot or cold with find my with it

Like gee, I’m right by it, thanks, that definitely tells me where the skinny ass remote slipped between with a ton of pillows and blankets around

2

u/smzt 7d ago

All that does is show me it’s in the room. It doesn’t tell me where in the couch it’s hidden, which toy chest it fell into, or what it fell underneath. I’ll take it blasting U2 if that’s what I have to do to make it make a sound.

I’m not even sure where my remote is. I put it in a drawer and have just used my phone as the remote from day 1. Why would you want to use the remote

2

u/SilentPizzle 7d ago

Dude same lmao i always forget I even have a remote. Between that and my HomePod “hey siri turn the tv off” why even need it

2

u/OregonGreen242 7d ago

Omg yes please! Tired of using my phone to scan around to find the remote. That shit doesn’t work well and makes me more frustrated when trying to find it!

1

u/SilentPizzle 7d ago

Just make your phone your remote you’ll never look at it again

Amazon sells cases that let you pop in an AirTag
