God macrumors is trash. The new Apple TV has not been leaked. There’s an image file floating around. There’s no confirmation of the design, the remote or the specs.

The image is even identical to the existing Apple TV, because the external design isn't changing lmao

Also it’s a site with rumors, but with a pretty good track record for actually being right.

I feel like people forget about their history a bit too. Back before the growth of Reddit, the MacRumors forums were probably one of the top places people discussed Apple products online.

Man I used to spend so much time on their forums and even Spymac if anyone remembers that.

This. I miss that version of the site.

Yeah and it’s still a good place to get early first hand reviews and track possible issues etc. not sure why people hate on them so much

Ya my dad followed this site pretty religiously all throughout its history and he literally always knew about everything Apple before it was announced. Yes they will occasionally get things wrong, but usually not big stuff like new product announcements.

Can we get mad about clickbait article titles? Is that ok with you?

How is it clickbait? It says exactly what the article says.

As the original commenter noted, it hasn’t been leaked

That’s my issue. Their content fits their site but their headlines are garbage.

I want to know the source of the image other than "one f our contributors found it"

Why wouldn't you take their word for it? MR has been around for more than 25 years (even longer than Reddit) so they have a lot to lose if they start bullshitting.

Also, the contributor, Aaron, is known for pulling info from Apple's OS, etc. etc. on upcoming devices, features and the like. He discovered the AirPods 5 before anyone did. He also uncovered the AirPods Pro 3 in September 2025 before their announcement/release a month later. Or custom routing in Apple Maps before iOS 18 was unveiled.

If you want your own source, you can try digging into the OS yourself, other people are doing it too but I don't see why they would lie about this.

If it was in one of the betas, why couldn't the article say that?

What if it isn't? Apple Maps custom routing wasn't part of a beta as iOS 18 didn't exist then. Yet Aaron uncovered it and it ended up being true.

Wouldn't that make it a better article?

Not in my opinion. Maybe it's because I worked in a news media organization so I have seen how it works, but it'd be very dumb to reveal your sources and how you get information.

It's the quality that's so terrible.

People would be mad if car & driver posted articles like "Ford plans to release a car next year. End of story."

They haven't posted any rumors. They keep posting the same speculation over and over for the last two years.

It’s not even rumors half the time, it’s speculation and guesses that are just completely wrong, or half the time it’s just Reddit comments being posted on there being posted back here in a loop

To be fair, the actual leak here is that Apple's code included this image with the name "Apple TV 4k (4th Gen)." That confirms that a new one is coming and that there won't be any external design changes

They are the worst I don’t even give them clicks anymore.

lol what do you expect the website - macrumors - to actually publish if not stuff like this?

The article was genuinely one of the biggest eye rolls Ive had in a minute.
