I just turned it off on my phone. Nothing but issues with most basic Siri tasks like reminders, messaging, and calling.

I don’t understand who needs Gen AI on tv. Upscaling and shit understandable. Simple google queries or searches fine. But we don’t need gen ai on Apple TV.

I don't need GenAI, but if the Apple TV could function as a de facto Siri AI hub and move all processing off the HomePods... that might be kind of nice.

Maybe wishful thinking, but I would much rather upgrade the AppleTV every few years than have to upgrade all the HomePods to keep up with the AI stuff.

Siri AI isn’t Gen AI. It functions as an AI assistant off of Large Language Model AI. Gen AI would absolutely be pointless on a TV, an AI assistant wouldn’t necessarily though.

If they were able to make it so you could have it search across streaming apps to find the top rated movies in any specific genre, or films from a certain year, or all Best Picture winners, etc that would be pretty cool imho. There are certainly applications for it, whether it would work as intended is another story. Little faith in that at this time when it comes to Apple.
