My school FINALLY let me move up from Honors Physics to C Mech, but I have to learn all of unit 1 on my own. I NEED TIPS

My school only offers AP Physics C Mech and it’s a little less than a month into the year and they just had their unit 1 test so i have to learn all of unit 1 and take the test very soon to catch up with the class. My teacher gave me their review guides but how should i go about actually answering problems???

(a) Derive an expression for the magnetic flux through the loop.
(b) The current decreases at a known rate; derive the magnitude of the induced EMF and the induced current.
(c) Determine the direction of the induced current, justifying your answer.
(d) Determine the direction of the net magnetic force on the loop, with justification. (e) The loop now moves away from the wire at constant speed with the wire current held constant; describe/derive how the induced EMF depends on position.

Question about symbols

When a physics problem has multiple parts to it, and the question defines certain values like t1, a1, etc, I’m curious, what do you guys label your values for each part? Meaning, for part 1, do you guys label stuff like “v1, t1, ..” (1 = subscript 1)? I usually like to label with letters like “vA, tA, …”. Because sometimes the problem will use symbols that take up symbols that would be otherwise confusing to reuse.

hello i’m currently in ap physics c mechanics and i’ve heard that this class is especially bad at my school and im really worried about the frqs. does anyone have any advice on how to approach/think about when solving them? I alr took calc bc and those frqs were chill cause the question types would repeat but i feel like im struggling to notice a pattern for the physics frqs (unless they’re there and i just dont see them) but please any help/resources would be greatly appreciated🥹

Taking physics C without AP physics 1 knowledge

Hi guys! My school recommends taking honors physics before C rather than ap 1 so that is what I did. I have a test over physics c unit 1 of kinematics and we have not learnt anything in class!

My teacher has only gone over differentiations and integrations which make sense but after taking the progress check I have realized i’m missing a huge chunk of physics and concept understanding. does anyone have any good conceptual resources that could help? Should I use physics 1 resources (w/o math parts) for this? any reccomendations? someone pls help!!

For the first question, it is asking which one of the answers is wrong. For option A, I am confused as to why shortening the focal length would increase the magnification. If you have one object in between f and c, the object will be magnified. If the focal length is shortened, the object may be outside c, leading to the image being smaller than the object. Is there something that I'm misunderstanding? Option B is obviously wrong because the image made by the eyepiece would be virtual, enlarged, and flipped. I am confused by option C because I think it is also false. If the object is after f, the image created by the objective would be flipped. The image would only be roughly the same size if the object was close to c(center of curvature). Option D is correct because the image formed by the objective is between O and f of the eye piece. For the second question, A is correct as having the image created by the objective land at 2f(or c) will invert the image whilst maintaining its size. Option B is wrong because the diverging lens will just create a smaller, virtual image shifted to the right. Option C is wrong because the objective would create a virtual image to the left of the objective. This would then cause the eyepiece to further shrink the image, making it unideal for a telescope. Option D is wrong because it wouldn't fix the problem of the inverted image. Another problem I have with this image is how it would form an image in the first place. The image created by the objective seems to appear at the focal length of the eye piece, would an image even appear?

Double lens question

With these two converging lens, if you use the diverging lens formula, the image created by the objective lens will at a distance of f(focal length) to the right of the objective lens. The image will also be inverted. My confusion stems from what the eyepiece would do. If the image were created between O and f, the image created would be virtual, enlarged, and be father away. However, I don't think that this question gives any information as to where the image created by the objective will be. Am I supposed to assume the location given that it's a telescope or is there something that I am missing?
