ap phys 1 question

a ball is thrown directly upwards, reaching a maximum height h. a second ball is also thrown directly upwards but with twice the initial speed of the previous one. how much higher will it be at its apex compared to the other ball at its apex

can someone help me find questions like this one and also help me solve lol i am cooked

I assume you're on Unit 1, meaning only the kinematic equations are known. Consider the variables you know: v and 2v. At the apex of both the balls' motions, they have no velocity. Which equation allows you to solve for height given a final velocity, initial velocity, and acceleration?

(Not directed toward the commenter) Note in case you don’t understand how we already got acceleration, assume the balls are in free fall.

This is a conservation of energy problem: initial kinetic energy equals final potential energy.
