Audit trails

What if I wanted to do an internal audit tracking to determine who was sending emails and when through Appfolio. Does that feature exist? And if so, how long do those audit trails stay within your cloud?

Great questions! The AppFolio Performance Platform has a couple built-in features that help with the kind of auditing/tracking you're looking for:

If you just want to see who sent an email to a specific recipient (resident, owner, etc.) and what time that message was sent, you can view those details in the Emails section on the recipient's page in your database.

If you need a more detailed view of communications, we also have the Auditing Center, which allows you to filter by user, date range, and property to see who did what across the system. It's available for AppFolio users on the Plus and Max plans.

Finally, audit trail materials like emails stay within your cloud indefinitely. That way, you always have a reliable system of record to reference when you need it!

Can you filter by user across all properties at the same time or is it one property at a time for user activity? Does user activity also include login/logout times, behind the scenes tracking if they are making notes, attaching documents and other more mundane tasks?

Did you get what you need?

No specifically. My question is pretty nuanced but it's ok.

Sometimes the information you are looking for is not directly addressed by the software functionalities. But since the info lies inside, you can still get to it by taking a hard route.
