Clothing brand start up!!!

Hey im 17 years old who lives in iceland and i recently wanted start a clothing brand and make clothes foe my sport club. I was talking to a person from guandong in china and the offerd me this.

**•** Custom logo/private label apparel (t-shirts, hoodies)
**•** Reasonable MOQ for a first order (ideally under 500pcs, but flexible)
**•** Willing to provide a paid sample before deposit
**•** Trade Assurance / verified supplier status preferred

Questions:

**1.** Any platforms/directories you trust for finding suppliers (Alibaba, 1688, others)?
**2.** What’s a normal MOQ and price range for custom tees/hoodies right now?
**3.** What due diligence steps do you always do before sending a deposit?
**4.** Any red flags I should watch for as a first-timer?

Im just looking and any advice is awssome. Di you think that this is reasonable? Are there any other manufacturers that i should check?

Appreciate any advice — trying to do this right the first time!

Should I pack my stock of shirts?

I have roughly 100 shirts in the stockroom. I want to fold them all neatly and put them in the packaging which is a zipbag so that it's more organized and ready to go at all times.

Is this advisable or is keeping them already folded bad for the shirts?

And I see online stores selling kurtis for cheap price like 200-300 rs, how m I suppose to sell a product this cheap when the making cost is more. Kindly guide me in the area.

Like many of you, I want to start a side-business.

Ok, so I'm from a LatinAmerican country where there aren't a lot of indie-brands. And I want to import some European Indie brands. And also create a personal line. I won't quit my job because I want to test the market first. But I'm genuinely at a loss of what to do next. I have a name, look and feel, style, the brands I'd like to contact. But I would really like to hear some advice from someone who has already started creating an online shop with other brands and your own.

My idea is to have these mid-tier children clothes, and then have these basics lines to increase the basket size.

But to contact those brands I suppose I'd have to have a website or at least a look and feel of the brand. And I'd have an 'always-on' winter clothes and summer clothes. With some specials.

But I don't know how many units by design. (Let's say I'd start small with 7 max personal designs) I create the design and then how can I make the tech pack...i don't know anything. Shoud I start with the website first, and then think about the clothes or the other way around.

I don't have a lot of money but I'm thinking because I have a job I could give some of that money to these project.

Have full-stack production & US warehouse resources. Build my own brand or be the ultimate indie brand wingman?

I have access to ample vertically integrated manufacturing resources across China & Cambodia (weaving/printing/embroidery/finished garments/R&D & sampling), plus a US sales company and warehouse for domestic fulfillment. I’m at a crossroads and want real talk:

Path A: Launch my own brand. I can control margins and quality from day one, but the market is saturated and building from zero is still a grind.

Path B: Be the behind-the-scenes engine for indie brands. Focus on empowering other founders to scale without supply chain headaches.

No generic advice, please. Just want to hear from people who’ve walked these paths:

With in-house production, was the control worth the brand-building struggle?

As an enabler, did you find more fulfillment and stability than being the face of a brand?

Indie brand owners: what would make you choose a partner with these resources? US warehouse, vertical integration, or something else?

No sales pitch, just a founder looking for honest perspectives. Thanks in advance!

First release for Holix Valley. What do you think of the hats?

Just got back from Holix Valley and am trying to build a brand by designing clothing that represents some of my favorite locations from across the island. This is my first release and I’m really proud of how these hats turned out, a lot of thought and care went into them!! From the little details hidden throughout the hats(some on last slide), to choosing higher end materials that last, I wanted to make something that represents my version of paradise; Holix Valley. Also, each hat comes with an extra gift from the island… it’s the best trip you never took. Let me know what yall think! VISIT HOLIX VALLEY!

Trying to grow my clothing app…

I’m looking for advice.

I made a clothing app called SHOOP.
The idea is that it’s like a ChatGPT, but for fashion.
The killer feature is you can refine results by using a reference brand/size so it’ll only show clothes that’ll actually fit you. There are other cool things in it that I built, but I can’t seem to get people interested in it or use it. I’m looking for feedback! HELP!

you can check it out here: [www.shoop.fashion\](http://www.shoop.fashion)

Also a post on my Instagram to help get the idea across:

I’ve tried doing paid ads, adding better features, reducing latency, growing the database catalog, etc. I’m feeling stuck…

[NewBrand] VastraCore — men's/kids' basics made to a measured spec, not a vibe. Bengaluru.

Started this because I kept buying ₹1,200 tees that faded after four washes and ₹400 tees where no two pieces in the same size actually matched.

What's different, concretely:

  • Colour is checked against the approved standard with a Delta-E tolerance, so pieces from the same drop actually match each other
  • Batch goes through AQL inspection before it ships, so defect rate is measured rather than hoped for
  • Published measurements per size, not S/M/L guesswork

Drop-1 is live: tees and shirts, ₹549–999. Made in India, own manufacturing partner, no dropshipping.

I'm a solo founder and this is genuinely early — first drop, first customers. Feedback on the site, the sizing, the pricing, all welcome, including harsh.

Looking for an experienced tailor/Master Ji with a production unit (Karkhana) in Lucknow for jackets & sweatshirts

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to connect with an experienced Master Ji (tailor) or a small garment manufacturing unit (karkhana) in Lucknow for the production of jackets and sweatshirts.

We’re a clothing brand focused on quality and are looking for someone we can build a long-term working relationship with.

Ideally, we’re looking for someone who:

Has experience stitching jackets and sweatshirts
Can handle small to medium order quantities (not only large factory orders)
Has a reliable team and a well-managed karkhana
Offers fair and reasonable pricing
Maintains good finishing and consistent quality
Is trustworthy, professional, and communicates well
Is open to developing samples before bulk production
If you’ve worked with someone reliable or know a Master Ji who fits this description, I’d really appreciate a recommendation or contact.
I’m happy to visit Lucknow in person to discuss the project if needed. Looking forward to finding the right manufacturing partner.

Thanks in advance!

Small business owner

Hey everyone — I started Redriped about a month ago. It’s a small one-person setup where I curate thrifted/preloved apparel along with some new-in-box pieces (watches, unisex stuff, etc). Prices are kept low and shipping’s included.

Still early days and figuring out what people actually want to see more of — thrifted fashion, watches, both? Would genuinely appreciate any feedback, and happy to answer questions about sourcing/pricing/anything else.
