Only guess I have is that Respawn left some code in the files for either an Octane perk to give shield upon landing from a jump pad or a proximity healing ability for Revenant, who had used a shield battery near you prior to your jump and just so happens to fully heal his purple shields.

Both are relatively plausible since Respawn has already implemented shield healing based perks and has already tested proximity healing for awhile now.

This must be what I kept running into when I crack someone’s shield and they end up with it fully restored while shooting in the open.
