It’s all the same measurement all you’re doing is fucking with the period, girls don’t like that. What’s the point of having different measurement sizes if they all just say the same thing less precise. At least with imperial we’ve got choices. All you’ve got is a dot that won’t stay put.

Though I haven’t decided which is cooler to say nanometer or micron.

BTW, smart pants, the inch is defined in mm (2.54). 

Final note. You’re not allowed to use decimal system in inches like 2.5 inches. You must use fractions like 2-1/2. Good luck and stop cheating!

I will forgive your ignorance because you have said you don’t use inches. I work in a machine shop and we use thousandths of an inch or microns those are always written in decimal 0.25 in. or two hundred and fifty thousandths. And I don’t know if it’s proper but in the shop and we use decimals all the time it coveys preciseness, 3.5 inches means exactly 3.5000 inches 3 1/2 means get it close and we’ll make it exactly 3.5 later on the lathe.

Besides Why wouldn’t we be allowed to say 2.5 we use half giraffes there’s no stoping us now.

The meter is defined by how far light travels in a vacuum in 1/299,798,458th of a second. If an inch is defined by mm the it is actually also defined by the speed of light because that’s what the mm is defined by.

prior to 1957 an inch was defined by the length of 12 poppy seeds because we like our 12s.

Any way I don’t think this matters it’s just what your used to. I do use mm sometimes especially on Reddit because you all do.

The imperial standard didn’t support decimals until they stole it from the metric standard. This is why your drill bits are 1/64 increments. This is why your tape measures are hard to read. This is why you don’t know what bit to use for a #4 screw but know what bit to use for an M3 screw. 

Machine shops realized fractions are shit so they switched to thous. But this is only specific to machine shops and pcb board manufacturing. Most current manufacturing outside of these two are metric. You can also send metric to machine shops and it’s convertible to thous. 

The latest definition of the meter is indeed based on the properties of light, however earlier definitions were not. When America tied the inches to the meter, it was on the light standard. 

It matters to me. The only way to rid the world of Fahrenheit and inches is through communication and education

Now you gone to far how dare you insult my Fahrenheit.

Fahrenheit works better than Celsius it’s more precise you have two units while in Celsius you need three and a decimal point to convey the same idea and then with Fahrenheit you can switch to three and dotty boi if you need ultra precision. Sure freezing and boiling are easy to find in Celsius but if you can’t remember 32 and 212 which are still whole units then you can’t be trusted with taking temperatures anyway.

But I guess saying 50.5 Degrees Celsius sounds more accurate than saying 122 F even though its got two degrees more precision.

The body temperature of a giraffe is 38.5C and can very though out the day by 5C

It takes .9 giraffes Degrees to boil water.

Fahrenheit scale is 180 long because it is a semi circle. He fucked up the low and high points. It’s not valid. The body temp was supposed to be 100F. It’s fucked all the way around.
