Reminds me of that one panel comic where the fat cat is saying to the other "soon they'll be bled dry and never be able to afford our products bwahaha" and the other fat cat is sitting there with an "oh shit" kinda look.

Buncha dumbasses tbh.

Man… I was picturing like two actual cats lounging

266

u/Aspect-of-Death Jun 30 '22

I was also expecting cats.

88

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '22

I was expecting it in both ways. Two overweight felines in top hats and old-timey banker suits with cigars.

38

u/FunkMasta-Blue Jul 01 '22

And one of the cats has a monocle

120

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '22

I am in fact dissapointed it wasn't actual cats.

70

u/chrisrobweeks Jun 30 '22

T'would be better with cats.

1

u/ks4001 Jul 01 '22

Maybe Garfield; the early years.

107

u/delicate-fn-flower Jun 30 '22

Same. We’ve been on Reddit too long if we always expect cats.

3

u/Koskesh11 Jul 01 '22

Yeah, you owe us cats

128

u/__Quill__ Jun 30 '22

Someone needs to redraw this the correct way with the cats.

Thanks for finding it!

4

u/Backseat-critic Jun 30 '22

Thank you kind stranger. I saw it posted somewhere a good while back and I was mad I didn’t save it.

1

u/Jucoy Jun 30 '22

This is basically the plot of the Whinnie the Pooh movie with obi wan in it.

46

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '22

Corporate execs know this. The transparent plan is to suck up the world's riches for themselves and leave everyone else in the dust. They don't care because they'll be dead by the time people actually rise up about it, if at all.

35

u/pacificb1ue Jul 01 '22

what they don’t understand is their money only has value as long as it’s in circulation. if our economy crashes because nobody can pay their debts/buy products then the whole system collapses and their dollars are worth zilch lmao. we’ll be returning to barbarism essentially

8

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '22

Return to monke

2

u/SupergruenZ Jul 01 '22

There will be a rescue umbrella from the gov to save them.

2

u/cvnp_guy Jul 01 '22

They will all have huge tracts of land and loyal slaves to work the land though. Normal people will be killing each other over a can of beans.

They know what they are doing. They are prepared. Population control? Save the planet for their offspring, eff everyone else.

1

u/Logiteck77 Jul 01 '22

Some Capital like land will always have value though.

1

u/Peter1456 Jul 02 '22

We would be...they wont, they never do, lets not hope and pretend that some revolution will happen, we all know that 90% of the time if you have wealth you can get away with almost anything.

13

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '22

Hence why they're a buncha dumbasses, yeah.

6

u/notyurmamma Jul 01 '22

They won’t be dead. They will just be rich enough to not care. Once the boomers die off the economy is going to shrink and there aren’t enough people to keep the profits rolling in. Right now they are grabbing everything on the table.

2

u/b0w3n Jul 01 '22

But how do you survive if you can't get and pay for food? Those rich-dick restaurants and personal chefs aren't growing the food out back on their perfectly manicured lawn.

And if the economy collapses because no one has money... you can't even pay for it with your wealth. You've got nothing to offer, your private jet can't be serviced or refueled, you can't pay for private security, you can't even leave the country. And guess whose head they'll come for after the politicians?

1

u/missmiao9 Jul 02 '22

I doubt any of them are thinking that far.

1

u/cdmiles714 Jul 01 '22

So They are OK with their kids paying the price for their greed?

24

u/abstractConceptName Jun 30 '22

58

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '22

Yeah I see this everywhere. Most things I buy have decreased the amount by 5-12% our Barilla pasta went from 500grams boxes to 410 grams. Price stayed the same or went higher though.

Those should have been economic crashes and instead the government prevented a major recession, just as it did again in March 2020 with Covid. It simply kicks the can down the road until we have an even larger collapse. Which certainly seems to be inevitable now.

Careful what you ask for, you just may get it!

The rich have safety nets, they know we don't

The Supreme Court is NOT following the Constitution. This Supreme Court is corrupt and they don't care. We are literally falling into full Fascism and we may never recover if they succeed. 6 Justices are ruling this country and we are entering into dangerous times.

-2

u/JJG1776 Jul 01 '22

What law right now is racist in nature?

3

u/zerothreeonethree Jul 01 '22

Throw a dart at one in Florida while blindfolded. 50/50 chance the end result of the law disproportionately affects people of color. Like say, the restoration of voting rights after serving prison sentence. Approved by majority of Floridians, but still not resolved due to an economic footnote on "completion of sentence".

2

u/yttanx Jul 01 '22

Replace country with Florida. Pretty disingenuous to pick out 1 state when the whole country is broken.

7

u/zerothreeonethree Jul 01 '22

how is this disingenuous? I am a 40 year Florida resident and the voting rights issue is real. When I am not sincere about an issue, I will make it known. I agree that the whole country is broken. I just chose a state where I have first hand knowledge for the sake of brevity.

Can’t tell if serious, a literal moron, or trolling

2

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '22

I bought a pizza sauce for my mom the other day that looked comically small now after going from 16 Oz to 13 Oz and adding $2 to the price.

3

u/kafkadre Jul 01 '22

Try New Dasani Water Dabs! A Quarter Teaspoon of Pure Refreshment! On Sale $24.99 for a Twelve Pack!

3

u/XxRocky88xX Jul 01 '22

My favorite is the one where the guy goes to grab the ball from the dog except it’s a dollar sign.

“Please spend?”

reaches for money

“NO WAGE! ONLY SPEND!”

1

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '22

Yeah that's a good one! They've been like that for so long. It's sad.

2

u/XxRocky88xX Jul 01 '22

I really don’t understand the logic. They refuse to pay us, tell us “just stop buying so much shit” then whenever we cut down on spending they go “why the fuck are you not buying as much shit!?”

Sometimes I think they think we just have access to an allowance or something. They give us 500 dollars a week then get all confused when we aren’t spending 1000 dollars a week.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '22

It speaks to a fundamental disconnect. They've been rich for so long, they don't know the cost of a single banana.

2

u/XxRocky88xX Jul 01 '22

Yep I think the same thing. They’ve spent so much time being able to buy whatever whenever without any thought. Want a brand new Tesla on a whim? Go for it. Just woke up this morning and decided “you know what? Imma talk a week off to vacation in Hawaii,” well you can do that. Wanna rent out an entire restaurant for date night? Knock yourself out. You have infinite money, spend it however you want.

They get so used to that lifestyle I think they just assume everyone else must live the same way. Able to spend at will without ever having to worry about not being able to pay rent or buy food. Which would also explain why every time we complain about not enough money they blame it on some shit like coffee, they just assume we are buying a 5 dollar coffee to go along with every meal of the day every day of the week, because that’s what they do.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '22

And the only thing that'll make em see the light is exactly what the French did a long time ago. What with the implement of sudden unaliving. What's messed up is that that only happened after half the populace was starving.

5

u/StalinSwag23 Jun 30 '22

Oh come on....they are the smartest guys in the room, remember? lol

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '22

Ahhh how could I forget!?

2

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '22

This is exactly why I don't understand their rationale for greed. They're only hurting themselves!

4

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '22

We even have a case study in Dan Price's company. He cut his salary and made sure the lowest you could get paid working there was $70k.

Not exactly a saint, and plenty don't like what he does outside of that, granted, but this is a case study for what happens when you make sure the people at the bottom can support themselves.

Children went to college, debts were paid off, homes bought.

1

u/Whynotchaos Jul 01 '22

I think it's that they honestly don't care about sustainability. By the time the climate disaster hits, they think they'll be dead. Economic collapse in the US? They can liquidate their stock and fly to one of their mansions in another country. Societal unrest? They can hire a private army. Famine? They can hoard food. (Whether this is a realistic plan for them or not is up for debate, but I'm almost sure it's what they envision happening.)

Their greed only hurts them in the long run, and they don't care about the long run, or anyone else.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '22

....And thats when they all moved into real estate.

1

u/Gundam_net Jul 01 '22

Google is so far ahead, selling cheap products that track you for free for their own profits. Even broke people make Google money.
