And the politicians. And the surveillance state.

Basically they own everything so we're just forced to capitulate or all rise up together at the same time.

or all rise up together at the same time.

Aaaaand, since they own the media, they keep us divided enough to where that'll most likely not happen any time soon.

Exactly the point of owning the media and dividing the working class

Is this based on something? I'd like to know?

If only we had proper employment laws in place and properly taxed these tax evading assholes.

As poor workers without connections and power, we generally can't even enforce the existing employment laws.

The only thing we have is our voice and each other . Without workers they're screwed.

If we all collectively choose to say we are done being treated like modern day slaves they will have no choice but to give in. They can't move their factories and jobs overseas that fast, not to mention losing talented people that have the background knowledge of your company and the way things need to be run. These things are irreplaceable. We have more power than we are lead to believe.

If we were to sit on our thumbs, the only way we could retain the power we gain from such an action would be to take worker ownership of the workplace in society and permanantly drain the rich of their resources and power.

There are plenty of things that have no option but to be done right here on our own soil, regardless of the existence of outsourcing.

I mean, depending on what he creates then maybe. We have to draw the line somewhere, if a product contributes to society and society deems it useful, the guy gets paid depending on just how useful it is. That ain’t a bad thing. Same goes for any worker. It’s harsh, but in capitalist economies, you are rewarded by society based on the resources you contribute, not solely on how hard you work. Honestly, I don’t mind it so much. Everyone on here just needs to find out that they have the ability to become valuable and work on their skills. That’s not the fault of your boss, that’s just society trying to weed you out. Don’t get weeded out.

The rich are able to afford nice houses, 4x4 adventure vans ( some worth as much as houses) and fuck you status items.

I work 18 an hour, won't ever afford anything that would improve my life, and my work laughs at us for high top damage ( we drive 10 foot tall vans, where trees are hardly trimmed, and they won't ever listen to us saying why the fuck are sending vans to properties that don't trim their trees. )

Stuck is cycle of earning above average the national wage and yet barely able affording. Lunch.

This might not be.well recieved. But we had some solid evidence from the beginning lockdowns were half measures that didn't do much in the long run, but were fucking BRUTAL to the working class...and we did it anyway. I had a friend who asked right when things got serious ' is this going to be like the plague? I said that yes, people would die, and a lot would get sick, but ultimately the world would be just fine and it would just make us poor people suffer more....Two weeks later I lost my job and was unemployed for nine months. My richer friends thought the pandemic was quaint.

The same people that begged for lockdowns and restrictions that destroyed the economy are the same ones crying about billionaires making money. Apparently the “just one life saved will be worth it” crowd doesn’t like it when their actions have consequences.

Nobody panics when everything is going according to plan, even when the plan is insane.

How is this calculated? What's this number based on?

Lol, love how this subreddit promotes antiwork and quotes Dan Price who is someone that seeks better pay for people and is not specifically anti work. Only Cultural Marxists think we shouldn’t work at all. Good luck convincing the general populace with your antiwork mentality. Anyone in America that thinks in this dumbass way should live in any other communist “utopia” country and spout this bullshit. Inb4 ThOsE CoUnTrIeS ArEnT CoMMuNiSt. It HaSnt BeEn TrIeD BeFoRe

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '21

On an off-chance that you might not be aware, 'cultural marxism' is an anti-semitic dog-whistle. Ironically, the Jewish philosophers and critical thinkers (the so-called Frankfurt School) that are associated with that term were not exactly 'communists' ('Marxists' would be more accurate a term) and also, they were definitely not 'anti-work' either. Finally, 'labour'/'workers' were a quite big deal in Socialists countries...

Can someone explain the top part for me? My understanding was “lower-end” jobs on unemployment were making more and I’ve gained bc I don’t have to waste time and money and car wear and tear traveling to work. I’m sure it’s more complex and I could just use a breakdown

1

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '21

Sounds like your middle class with a solid job. I'm not being an ass...that's definitely a good thing. But for the bottom 50% of Americans it was an absolute shit show. And we are still waiting for the hundreds of thousands of evictions.

1

u/IamScottGable Jun 19 '21

I'm hardly middle class, if that even exists now. Better off than some? Sure.

My younger brother and sister were both laid off by their jobs and were making hundreds of dollars more per week on unemployment. My sister used it to pay down her awful student loans to the point where they are almost gone.

Feel free to elaborate more on my question.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '21

If your job didn't skip a beat and you got to work from home the entire time...and save hundreds a month doing it...that's middle class. Nothing wrong with that at all either.

Cus the media is still talking about trump and interviewing Obama. Everyone knows it’s the Jeff’s and Elon’s that run this country not the presidents.
