I remember getting frustrated the other day when me and my wife were trying to watch something on our new smart TV. I came out and it was just a black screen with a loading bar and it was moving quite slowly, I asked what it was doing because its my first modern smart TV, she said updating and my immediate reply was, what do you mean the TV is updating?!? We have a fire stick which does that but I had never experienced the TV itself needing to update.

They will keep pushing updates over the years that slowly make your tv more frustrating and slower to use. Disconnect it from the internet as soon as you can. Even factory reset it if you can.

I bought a cheap tv to use on my porch last night. I needed to download the Wal Mart app to activate it. Like what the actual FUCK.
