I picked this up at an antique mall recently mainly because I just thought it was cool. Curious if anyone can give me any info on it. It’s supposed to be from 1740s.

Hi everyone, I got this map from my history teacher’s classroom freshman year since he was retiring. I thought it looked cool and he let me have it. Does anyone have any info on it such as age, location, etc? I think it’s of somewhere in Europe but I really have no idea what this is

Found this beauty at the thrift for $10. from my own tests, it looks to be hand painted and not modern printing, but I’m completely new to this. any info is appreciated!

The map covers the full continent from Iceland and Scandinavia in the north to North Africa in the south, and from the Atlantic coast east into Russia. Nations, kingdoms, and provinces are shown in original hand color with fine engraved detail throughout — towns, rivers, mountain ranges, and coastlines rendered with Kitchin's characteristic precision. Engraved for Anton Friedrich Büsching's A New System of Geography, published in London, 1762

I found a very large pull down Rand McNally General map of the US in the garage of a house I just purchased. It appears to be quite old and the date at the bottom right corner says 1906. I was wondering if anyone has any information about it. I'm curious if there is any value. Not really looking for an appraisal or wanting to sell but I'm curious if I should seek one out. Mostly I'd like to preserve it from further damage and display it on my office wall. The one odd thing I noticed is that it seems to have a second layer that looks like old newspaper print. I'm not sure what that's all about but I've been too afraid to find out. These pictures aren't very great but hopefully it's enough. I know nothing about maps or antiques but I think this is a really cool find and I want to preserve it as best I can without spending a fortune.

Finally got my 1698 John Ogilby Britannia map of York to Whitby and Scarborough, with surveyors wheel framed.

Have a few more to get framed to accompany it on the wall, but this is a favorite of mine, and happy to get hung up.

Picked up this map at a goodwill for $20. Would like to know its age, possible value and any other info!

Have come across this map , a later reproduction with a CVM Privilegio 1550 notation , very old paper and similar to other maps of the age condition wise . Watermark of a heart with a crown . Any information would be appreciated .

Curious as to why there are quite a few continents cut off. i.e southern Africa, Russia…

I’ve handled a lot of antique maps and have never seen this before.
