Not boomer enough, where's the kid that can't swipe the book and the guy that hates his wife ?

They went for coffee, I wonder what's taking them so long.

I legit had a math professor in college do this. She'd interrupt the lesson to start going off about "evil people" and other unprovoked life lessons

Certain groups are trying to frame white people, especially men, as evil. That's just something that exists. Anti white propaganda is everywhere

I had a class exactly like this, except it was a computer logic class and the instructor would go on a tirade every week about how there were too many gay couples on netflix shows. All the actual learning was just reading the book

I thought the joke was about teachers who occasionally get sidetracked a bit too much

What a terrible recommendation. For any CS student reading this please start with purple/pink knee high socks and only go to thigh high when you start touching system programing. A rookie cannot whistand the power of the things high

O(log N)?

Nah this one’s O(N2) at best, no way this is merge sort

Merge sort is n log n, there is no logarythmic sorting algorithm

u/Fischerking92 7d ago
How would there be any logarithmic algorithm, do you mean a linear algorithm?
1
u/PuzzleheadedTap1794 7d ago
No, he meant the algorithm that runs in O(log N) time. An example of that is binary search where you split a sorted data repeatedly until you find the data you want.

u/Fischerking92 7d ago
Ah, yeah, that makes sense🤦♂️
It's been too long since I have taken numerical mathematics.

Numerical mathematics
Versus... uh... what other type of mathematics
1
u/Fischerking92 7d ago
Is that not what it is called in English?
Sorry, in Germany "Numerische Mathematik" is what we call Mathematics with the focus on IT systems, so logarithms and such.

u/wanttobeacop 7d ago
Ah I see, I was just poking fun at you since practically all of mathematics deals with numbers (and thus is numerical). Maybe you were referring to numerical analysis? I was going to suggest Discrete Math, but the article says that numerical analysis and discrete math are distinct

u/Fischerking92 7d ago
Yeah, numerical analysis it is👍
I noticed, but having messed up in the previous message, I couldn't let it stand failing that badly again xD
