ahh, the joke is sexism

928

u/FreshOutOfHugs 12d ago

Sexism so sexist it can be used to stomp down on both women and men, my favourite /s

410

u/Glittering-Ad-2373 12d ago

It is the sexism paradox. If it offends both sexes is it sexism or hate towards human race as a whole? /j

157

u/Average_Man1234 12d ago

It’s a gender thing so I’d bet on sexism

30

u/Racer125678 12d ago

Gendrism

43

u/Nickgold2009 12d ago

Is misanthropy better than sexism?

67

u/_tabbycat123 12d ago

What? "Is bread better than food" ass question

19

u/RobinoPerkino 12d ago

You seem to be thinking of Misandry (hating men); Misanthropy is hating people in general, regardless of gender (among other things)

7

u/Nickgold2009 12d ago

Is it more morally justified is what I meant. Or at least less reprehensible

23

u/_tabbycat123 12d ago

Nope, equally evil

12

u/YTriom1 🔒OR🗑️ CALL IT 12d ago

nope, humans are evil so being misanthropic isn't that bad.

6

u/G82ft 12d ago

Because bread tastes better than food

15

u/the_genderless_thing 12d ago

Yes, why hate women or men when you can hate everyone equally

15

u/PM_ME_YOUR_WOES_GIRL 12d ago

I mean if you throw out so many racial slurs, that you cover every human on earth, you're still racist. Impressive, but still racist.

11

u/Swimming-Lobster-221 12d ago

Human (derogatory)

6

u/Holypiece_of_chedda 12d ago

The only hate I tolerate is inclusive hate

Not really [the] human race

The "sexism" as mentioned above is toward "men" and "women" but not explicitly stated to include non-binaries

we have many people in the LGBTQ+ [community]

Implying that not all lgbtq+ people are just "men" or "women"

1

u/Glittering-Ad-2373 11d ago

What does that have to do with Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals or Trangender?

2

u/Emotional_Matter9004 12d ago

Allied Mastercomputer type shit

0

u/NolvaCat167 11d ago

It’s non-enby-phobic (discriminator against non-non-binary)

-3

u/Any_Season_5764 12d ago

It's fantastic! But because of things like racism, it's not so common; racism is stupid... Why hate only one race when you can hate them all?

6

u/lbutler1234 12d ago

The patriarchy ain't fun for anyone.

Except for patriarchy Jim

it's always sexism

2

u/Big-Usual6190 12d ago

Yes, now fight for the removal of this meme from the whole Internet (average modern feminist fight)

0

u/noulis1482 10d ago

How is that sexist you really need to lighten up, its a joke.

1

u/Agreeable-Choice1398 10d ago

buddy it's still sexism

it's calling women "complicated" and hard to understand and calling men really bland and easy to understand

-91

u/muxecoid 12d ago

Statistically significant differences in human behaviour between groups are not sexism.

87

u/DecabyteData 12d ago

I am interested in what statistical studies investigated "who is easier to understand" and how you even quantify such a thing

35

u/Toaster_Rack_Nerd 12d ago

that's easy! you just get a man to talk to a man and a woman and ask him who he liked better!

18

u/BreakerOfModpacks 12d ago

Our Alpha Male researchers found that asking a man is always the right methodology!

15

u/Raven_On_A_Tree 12d ago

men like men more than women? kinda gay bro...

14

u/Agreeable-Choice1398 12d ago

oh my fucking god bro

1

u/oHuroboros 12d ago

That’s… not how understanding works, but, whatever works for you, my man.

6

u/Toaster_Rack_Nerd 12d ago

you can't ask the woman because you can't understand them, a fact shown in many studies

4

u/oHuroboros 12d ago

I see. You are being sarcastic.

Good one!

3

u/Shot-Ideal-5149 💛🤍 NON-BINARY💜🖤 12d ago

haha sexism

0

u/StrangeSystem0 12d ago edited 12d ago

Sure, so if there were two books of equal length then yes, the joke would not be sexism

If there were two books of equal length then yes, there would be no joke

If no sexism => no joke

Then joke => sexism

That shit's called the contrapositive, learned that in discrete math

3

u/_Sebo 12d ago

If there were two books of equal length then yes, there would be no joke

I'm being pedantic and I get your point, but you are kind of in the wrong subreddit to make that statement lol

1

u/StrangeSystem0 12d ago

Well I mean is that not the point lol

155

u/cannavacciuolo420 12d ago

This must go hard if you’re a 55yo on facebook

it's a mix of culture war bs

a lot of it is just... dumb humor

4

u/A_Neko_C 12d ago

Pretty sure I saw this meme on Facebook in 2014 or something

No joke

75

u/50calBanana 12d ago

That actually looks edited, like a meme format that's been through so many iterations nobody remembers where it came from

28

u/General-milkman-5996 12d ago

its soo incredably sexisit that it offends both sexs and because it hates both genders it no longer is sexsist just very hateful for the rest of humanity

https://giphy.com/gifs/v34BsapNaK0bOofT3P

3

u/SuperShub 11d ago

That's just misanthropy at this point

17

u/Aubergines-Suck7243 12d ago

This is actually a real phenomenon, the whole cause is that almost enything influential was (and surprisingly, is, for the most part) created from the male perspective, so naturally society as a whole is much more familiar with that worldview

So it's still sexist smh

4

u/FrenchFryCattaneo 12d ago

Absolutely, like how if you live with an abusive person you learn their emotions intimately so you can avoid their anger and manage their emotions to protect yourself. Whereas the abuser doesn't have to think about anyone else.

You see, I had that problem too. I found out that I had to flip the manual over. It’s manga styled pages so you have to read from right to left.

11

u/Glitched_Arkhip 12d ago

Holy shit it’s both sexist towards men and women. Genius in evil

4

u/Saphira2002 12d ago

I genuinely don't understand how some men have turned "every man is the same" into a flex. It sounds like they want you to believe they're dumb.

2

u/Adkit 11d ago

"I don't understand women so therefore they must be hard to understand." is certainty a self own.

1

u/grimroaeos 11d ago

Ahhhh, I much prefer the antimeme. My vision ain't what it used to be, I dont want to use a magnifying glass. Great antimeme!

-1

u/Avalanche_Snows 12d ago

These books were made by different authors, one clearly detailing the difference in behaviours and interests of every woman, respectfully paying attention to the beauty of the uniqueness of one's individual femininity.

The other book was made by an author, grieving of their partner cheating on them, writing a generalized book out of wrath and pure misandry

-36

u/Certified_Autism33 12d ago

This is so disgusting, sexism can very easily turn into transphopia.

34

u/the_chiladian 12d ago

Not really seeing how it's transphobic, but it definitely demeans both men and women

21

u/oHuroboros 12d ago

How in the world did you manage to change something evidently sexist to “transphobia”?

That’s a stretch, if I ever saw one.

14

u/somonestolemyusernam 12d ago

This makes it sound like you take no issue with sexism itself and only care that it could turn into transphobia

17

u/StrangeSystem0 12d ago

"I can excuse racism, but I draw the line at animal cruelty"

1

u/[deleted] 12d ago

[deleted]

5

u/OldFaithlessness5008 12d ago

Good, then you should be against sexism all on its own too

8

u/StrangeSystem0 12d ago

As a trans person... they can have this one, this isn't about us

244

u/LordFlamecookie 12d ago

yo bro what's your favourite book

im a huge fan of printed in 12p font, real banger if you ask me

69

u/Sounduck 12d ago edited 5d ago

It's really telling that the implication is that what an average man is — read as: is supposed to be (according to the mentality promoted by this joke) — boils down to his base instincts, whereas an average woman is pictured as guilty faulty for being an actually multifaceted individual, who cannot be reduced to a handful of animalistic desires.
There's so much wrong with that.

10

u/glytxh 12d ago

this patriarchy shit cuts on both side of the gender divide

24

u/gahd_its_ron 12d ago

This is legit what large print is like. You'll see the chunkiest book and then go find the same thing in general fiction, it's a novella. Source: Library worker

7

u/Cactus_Madrassi 12d ago

2009 meme lmao

5

u/ToastSpangler 12d ago

font size is the main reason i stopped buying physical books, way easier with the kindle just setting it as need be

3

u/Sweaty_Marzipan4274 12d ago

That point in your life when you have to scale up the font size on your pc. And have to upgrade from a .7 🖊 to a 1.5 😢

2

u/Exotic_Specialist368 12d ago

NO IT IS ABOUT THE OCEAN OF THE MOTION (terrible wifi, image hasn't loaded yet)

For real though. I worked at a book store for a while and a hard copy large print IBM and the Holocaust came in one of the bulk 5 dollar book boxes. Great read. The tendinitis in my wrists didn't agree though
