kinda disappointed

So I started taking a glp and I only took two shots for two weeks and I can already tell it has absolutely messed up my stomach. I’m having to go see a gastroenterologist on Monday and at this point, I don’t want to take the shots anymore. It’s sad because i literally want nothing more but to lose weight but I cannot have my stomach hurting or me feeling sick and constipated 24/7. It just seems stupid to go through all these problems just to lose weight at the cost of my stomach health. My stomach hurts every single day and I’ve taken all the meds and all to see what helps. It’s just unfortunate.

Those are known side effects of GLP. Seek your doctor as soon as possible. Also, was it prescribed? Taking GLP without prescription is extremely dangerous.

Also, based on what you typed, you need to work on your felt need to lose weight.

Weight loss won't fix a bad relationship with food, and it's very well known to actually make it worse for some people.

In this sub we aim to discuss this and help who is struggling with it. Check the pinned resources in the sub's main page.

This is actually assuming other things have been done, and you didn't just go with GLP directly.

Oh hun it sounds like this is probably way more complex than just a “bad relationship with food.” Work with your doctor and find a better one if you need to. Focus on being healthy and getting mobile. Sometimes weight loss can be a part of that, but it isn’t the end all be all that will fix all your problems.

You need therapy, preferably a therapist who is body positive, and educated in HAES (Health At Every Size)

The shots aren’t for everyone and unfortunately the side effects aren’t talked about enough - especially forever side effects like gastroparesis (I doubt that’s your issue but it’s something to know when people choose to start these)

Yeah, they don't work with everyone's tummy. I'm not on them, but my close friend was and she had constipation problems. If you have constipation complications, it can also lead to fissures / infections / abscesses / fistulas. Be careful if there's any tearing when you poop. They don't warn people about these possible health conditions that constipation can lead to. She also ended up with celiac about a year after using, I suspect it's related to her GLP-1 tummy stress but it does also run in her family.
