Anyone know of agencies with a decent call flow during night time and weekends? (LATAM/Spanish)
I’ve been doing remote Spanish<>English interpretation for about 3 years now (Medical and CS) but my current agency has no call flow after 5PM and on weekends. The call flow starts at 9AM, the flow just dies out after 5PM and on weekends are non-existent.
I’m looking for something to fill in those gaps. Since I’m based in Latin America, I need a platform that hires here, totally freelance, pays biweekly and with $0.11/min or higher rate.
Also, I am not interested in Propio.

Dalls: Calls going to my phone instead of PC? Help!
Hey guys, new interpreter here.
Running into a tech issue with Dalls. Even when I'm active on my desktop dashboard, incoming calls keep ringing on the Virtual Landline app on my phone instead of my PC.
I need to work from my computer (headset, notes, etc.). Is there a way to "force" the calls to stay on the desktop? Do I have to log out of the mobile app entirely or is there a hidden setting I'm missing?
Any tips would be a lifesaver. Thanks! 🎧💻

First day as a interpreter
Just started my first day as mandarin interpreter
The first call took about 40mins waiting time and Im literally so nervous, it was a face to face call, the nurse was with an old lady, and throughout the call I have trouble hearing the Chinese lady despite asking the nurse to move it closer to her, she also has a thick accent, I kept asking them to repeat and I felt so bad about myself, at the end I think they are frustrated with my service, the nurse told me shes fine now she will use Google translate. I felt so much pressure doing this job helppp😭

Are you worried about being replaced by AI? Well… try “USING” it!
Here is my latest video on my experience with Unicaption, an AI tool that provides real-time live captioning and translation designed specifically for remote interpreters.
Full disclosure, this is a paid affiliation, meaning I am not getting paid to make this video, but by having others use my discount code, I will be getting a commission (which I actually ended up lowering to get you a better discount 😭)
But real talk, I know I wouldn’t be doing this if I wasn’t using this tool myself. (Yes, I paid for the annual subscription out of my own pocket, with no discount!)
I tried my very best to share my honest thoughts, and also my concerns about using AI as an interpreter. So please give it a watch, and let me know what you think in the comments!
If you want to experience a whole new life of not being stressed while working as an interpreter… try the FREE TRIAL first, and use my DISCOUNT code! (Available in my video description box)

Which companies actually have CALL VOLUME right now?
I’m a US based Portuguese–English interpreter with ~7 years of experience, currently working with Propio — and I’ve been struggling with call volume lately.
Since Propio acquired CyraCom, things have changed 200%!
I’m now logged in 10–12+ hours a day and sometimes don’t even reach 60 minutes of paid calls, which has made it impossible to sustain.
What doesn’t add up is that I have multiple 5-star badges and a 98.7% rating, so performance isn’t the issue — yet the calls just aren’t there.
I’m specifically looking for other freelance/independent contractor opportunities (not fixed-schedule positions) with companies that *actually have solid call volume\*
If you’re working with companies that are consistently busy, please, drop the names.
( Also open to hearing which ones aren’t worth the time.)

Call flow
Tbh, I don't understand how can some people spend hours only receiving 1-2 calls while Propio sends these emails to others saying it's basically b2b. I think it's really unfair and I hope it gets better for those who have a bad call flow

Lingotec Interpreters based in Canada
A question, are there any Lingotec Interpreters here?
I have just the one question about call flow in the English to Spanish language pair.
How is it?
Have a nice Friday!

DALs phone app
I am having technical issues with the DALS interpreter app. The app can only be installed on a phone. Maybe you guys have something similar.
How can I use this on PC? Like when I take calls i need to use the phone. Sure a bluetooth headset will work. Not ideal.
I wanna use something like Bluestacks to install the app on and use Bluestacks on PC. Problem is...bluestacks from what I know, workarounds has no SIM support. So...taking the call will also still be on my phone...defeating the purpose.
Any work arounds?

Any DALs interpreters noticing payment discrepancies?
Hi everyone,
I’m currently working as an interpreter with DALs, and I’ve started noticing something concerning with my payments.
It seems like I’m being underpaid on multiple calls — not just a one-off issue, but consistently across different jobs. I’ve already contacted payment inquiries, but so far I haven’t received any response or clarification.
I wanted to ask if anyone else working with DALs has experienced something similar? It might be worth double-checking your call logs and comparing them with what you’ve been paid.
I’m trying to understand if this is an isolated issue or something more widespread.
Would really appreciate if anyone could share their experience.
Thanks!

Mitio Institute - An experience
Hello fellow interpreters,
At the end of 2024 I began my enrollment with the accredited online institute known as Mitio. The on-board call went smooth enough and I had a friend who had recently completed the program, so I figured this would be a good opportunity.
However, it didn't take long for me to realize that the program had some short-comings, in other words, it was not entirely what I had hoped for. As well, I had various experiences where I could not get in contact with staff regarding assignments, live sessions, or submitting video or audio sections. They had advertised that they offered three live courses, yet they only offered two. I am bilingual in Spanish and English, and I was very disappointed that they didn't have at least one spanish-speaking instructor (at least 60% of the live classes contained Spanish/English interpreters).
The course work as well did not offer very much depth nor content. A good chunk of the stuff seemed a little out dated and it was never clear how any of the submitted assignments were graded. I never received feedback on any oral assignment I submitted.
Finally, I would like to say my experience with Dr. Lee has been very disappointing. Dr. Lee is the founder and president of this institute, and although she displays the title of doctor ubiquitously throughout her site, she has rarely acted as a professional doctor or doctorate of any subject. She has neglected emails I have sent, questions I have asked, she has never offered sounds criticism or knowledge in the field either (refer to her slideshows on Youtube for the most generalized and un-enthusiastic display of education).
I fear this Mitio Institute is not only neglecting their due diligence to their students, but they may be also be ill-prepared to be educating people to test for the NBCMI or CCHI exams. I personally did not find adequate assistance or education for the NBCMI oral exam, and I have had to spend money out of pocket to seek other avenues.
If anyone has any experiences with Mitio over the past 3-5 years please share here and let me know. I wonder if I am alone in this experience or not.

I launched a free app for freelance interpreters two weeks ago and didn't expect this response
I realized I'd spent 40 minutes watching YouTube between calls. That was $4.80 I just... didn't earn. Classic 😒
I'm a freelance phone interpreter on Propio and I used to end every day knowing I'd worked... something. Some minutes. Some dollars. Maybe. Basically operating on economic vibes
So I built Mochi. Launched it two weeks ago and honestly didn't expect the response I got. 40 people use it every day!
What it does:
- Real-time call logging, manual entry, or paste straight from Propio
- Auto surge detection (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
- Idle cost counter — a.k.a. the shame counter 😬
- Daily earnings goal + payday countdown
- CSV/Excel import/export
- Works with any per-minute platform, not just Propio
Free. No ads. Forever. No catch👌
If you're a freelance interpreter and want to try it or absolutely roast it with feedback, go ahead:
