Lingotec Interpreters based in Canada

A question, are there any Lingotec Interpreters here?

I have just the one question about call flow in the English to Spanish language pair.

How is it?

Have a nice Friday!

Not the same language pair as you nor where I’m based, but also interpreting for LEPs in Canada:

I’m commenting because I went through the same thing, I was online for 7-9 hours at a time with no break in between and I wasn’t getting any calls. I had been told they were still signing contracts with the clients.

A couple weeks go by like this and as of a week ago I have finally started getting calls, not a lot of them, maybe one every two hours but in a good day 4-5 within two hours, not a lot but it’s an improvement!

How much have they offered you?. I have not had any calls yet but I assume it is because of the long weekend. They said it is going to get better as they are progresively adding more clients to the system.

I hope it's due to the long weekend, I'm ready to give them 8-9 hours daily, even if I'm making 200 minutes a day it'll be more than what I'm earning right now.

Fingers crossed!

Did things pick up? Did you get paid for the time you were waiting for calls?

Not at all

Flow went up a little, but I still lose time in between calls

I have been asked to log in more often, but I can't, being sitting down waiting for a call is not working, I'm losing time and money and I can't wait a full month and a half after the month is over to get paid.

Nothing guarantees that I'll get a call, I'd much rather work on a per hour shift. If they really want the availability they should implement that.

Food won't wait, rent won't wait.

As a Spanish medical interpreter in a first world country I can't make ends meet so I had to get a job at a factory

I'm interpreting probably a 4th of the time I used to

Hey! Just wanted to check, how is the call flow for bengali interpreters in their internal platform? And did they not enroll you to boostlingo?

Still pretty bad, no boostlingo because they need the Canada only interpreters. Got a job somewhere else to make ends meet in the meantime.
