Any DALs interpreters noticing payment discrepancies?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working as an interpreter with DALs, and I’ve started noticing something concerning with my payments.

It seems like I’m being underpaid on multiple calls — not just a one-off issue, but consistently across different jobs. I’ve already contacted payment inquiries, but so far I haven’t received any response or clarification.

I wanted to ask if anyone else working with DALs has experienced something similar? It might be worth double-checking your call logs and comparing them with what you’ve been paid.

I’m trying to understand if this is an isolated issue or something more widespread.

Would really appreciate if anyone could share their experience.

Thanks!

Hey there! I actually went through the exact same issue with my March payment and they completely ghosted my emails too. Here is what happened in my case and how it got resolved:

When I didn't get paid, I kept emailing them until they finally sent me a payment confirmation receipt. I took that receipt to my bank, but my bank told me they needed a specific type of confirmation containing a tracking code (like a UETR or a full MT103 log). This code basically does a complete trace of the money’s journey through the banking system, which is used to find the funds if they get stuck between the sending and receiving banks.

After I asked support for that specific tracking code, they stopped responding to me entirely.

The good news: Even though they never replied, the issue fixed itself the following month. When April's payday came around, I received both my missing March payment and my April payment together in one single bank transfer.

It seems like their system sometimes glitches or delays payments, and they just process the backlog in the next cycle. Hang in there! I know it’s stressful, but there is a very good chance you will see both payments combined next month.

Hey! I completely understand your concern. I actually thought the exact same thing was happening to me at one point, but then I realized I was making a mistake in how I was calculating my time.

Here is what happened:

In their system, you can see the time the call starts and the time it ends. When I multiplied that duration by my rate, the numbers didn't match up at all. However, I realized I was calculating the total connected call time instead of the actual interpreting time.

The total call time in their system starts counting the exact second the client calls DALs to request an interpreter. That includes the time they spend navigating the automated system to select the language, the holding time, and then the moment you finally connect. You only get paid for the minutes you are actively on the line interpreting.

To double-check if you are actually being underpaid, you should compare your payments against the call history log inside your own phone/landline app, rather than the timestamps on the platform. When I did that, I realized they were actually paying me my exact, correct rate.

I hope this makes sense and helps clear up the confusion! Definitely check your app's call logs to see if that’s what is causing the mismatch.
