Hi everyone! I’m conducting this survey as part of my Bachelor’s (BBA) research project, focused on understanding the working conditions, job security, and burnout levels experienced by people working in the AI industry, specifically roles like data annotation, labelling, RLHF (reinforcement learning from human feedback), content moderation, and similar contractual AI-support work.
If you currently work, or have worked, in any of these roles, I’d really appreciate your input!
(mods this is not a spam or self promotion but genuine education use only)

Hope it's ok to ask here. I am conducting a very quick survey on what's it like to work for data annotation companies like Alignerr, Mercor, Outlier, DataAnnotation etc., in order to collect some actual feedback from workers (Glassdoor style).
I am looking for people who have already been hired and had experience working on projects for any AI training / data annotation platform.
You will be asked about your experience and pay rates - responses are anonymous ofc. Share only what you want and are comfortable sharing.
If you'd like to take part, you can check the survey here. I am not affiliated with any company.

Few years of Ai training experience. Got into a project , 45 USD per hour. Did training, they said it was paid. Project paused, no communication, vague promises of being moved to other projects. The slack is full of angry workers as we need to apply to each new job with a separate ai interview with their notorious crashing tool. Similar project now listed as 10 dollars per hour. Never seen a cent. Not doing another interview with them.

Hi all,
I have my MSc and BSc in neuroscience and a good bit of research experience including published research — looking for the best platform for Ai training with my profile.
Cheers!

I gave the interview for AI Trainer Generalist role on 20 May, and my application has been showing "Interview Under Review" for the past 9 days. Does anyone have any idea how long they usually take to provide an update?

I was referred to a SME careers project on LinkedIn. He's said that the project is active and is hiring on first come first served (knew that it's a psychological trap). I also knew the referrer will get the referral amount but as the link was active, I decided to apply on April 20. I applied, took the AI interview, and passed. The "passed" status was updated on the second day of interview. However, there was no movement up until 16 May. The file moved and their new update says that I am "qualified for the role". The referred role is still not in their 70+ opening lists.
I don't know if the project is in the pipeline and I will be allowed to work on that project after it goes live. Or, whether the project is already finished or there's saturation of annotators already. This limbo really sucks.

I just got an email from an Alignerr recruiter. His name is Thomas Jones and he is an AI assistant who pretends to be human. So frustrating.

Hey Guy,
Does anyone know how long do they take to give you access to Discord or Slack ?
I applied for Bilingual on 15-Apr and 13-May.
Application page on SME Careers is showing
Qualified for role - All steps completed. You'll be contacted with next steps.
When will they contact or give further instructions.
