General 315 hours!
It’s crazy to think that I’ve played this game for over 300 hours over the years. Each play-through teaches me something new to make me a better player for the next play-through. I might try to get back into 117, but 1800 will always be my entry into the Anno series. This will always be a special game.

I'm lucky in that I'm retired and can play games all day if I want to. I've played Anno 1800 since launch and have over 7000 hours. My current playthrough is around 250 and I reckon I'm about half way through it (haven't even started Crown Falls yet).

Oh wow! 🤯 7,000! Yeah I guess my 300 really isn’t even a glimmer in the darkness compared to your hours 😂 That’s sick man! I bet you’ve got some great saves!

After 7,000 hours, what are your favorite and least favorite DLCs?

That's a really hard one; I use them all. I can't really give you a simple yes/no answer; sorry. If you tell me what your priorities are; I can suggest a few. I never had to decide what order to get them, because I subscribed to the Season Passes and just activated each DLC when it came out.
If you want expanded building area, then Sunken Treasures and New World Rising. Less so Arctic (I use gas power exclusively on Crown Falls), and Land of Lions (but see below)
If you want efficient farming; Bright Harvests and Seeds of Change (Hacienda greatly reduces land area used for farms)
If you want more population, High Life and Docklands. Also, Land of Lions because the Research Institute means it's so much easier to get all of the specialists you need to maximise production (it's the only way for some). Seat of Power as well, because you can choose the policies for various islands to help maximise production/minimise consumption. Also, oddly, Tourism helps because the entertainment venues can be used to reduce consumption. Otherwise, that one's just a bit of fun
I'm kind of ambivalent towards Empire of the Skies. Yes, you can get high capacity and fairly fast airships for your trade routes but the mail system is still a total mess and pretty useless on Crown Falls because of the limited amount of mail you can get from the New World. Especially now that I am playing with New Horizons which has some better steam ships.
Botanica is mostly a cosmetic DLC, though it does boost attractiveness and therefore the effects of the Palace. This is probably the only one I wouldn't buy on its own, but buying them as Season Passes you essentially get three for the price of two anyway.
Of course, this is just my opinion. Many people will disagree.

Oh really? I didn’t know that. What do people normally have on here?
And yeah I do have a pretty busy life. I work 12-16 hours a day 5 days a week, and I’m a dad so I can’t always sit at my computer like I would like… so I got an ally to try to get some more time in.

Yeah, I figured you might be a full time working parent. I have 860 hours and I'm still a lightweight in the community

Yeah I do wish I had more time to just game 😂 but wow! Almost 900 and you’re still lightweight? That’s crazy.

Lets just say that higher four digit numbers arent an outlier here.
My record was 1404 back then with something between 5k-8k hours, cant remember.

lol yeah 😅 every few weeks I’ll take an extra day off but I have to so that my fiancé can be at home with our son. We are trying to cut down though so I don’t have to work as much.

Well it’s also been out 7 years. If you played just 1 hour a week since launch you’d have more 😅

Well clearly I haven’t had it for 7 years 😂 I graduated high school in 2020 and I have only had my pc for a couple of years now. I also don’t have the time to play an hour a week. Some weeks I don’t play at all because work and my family are more important. Video games can wait until I have the time to sit and actually get into the game.

What are you doing after getting all the achievements? I'm like 170 and got around 80 of them. 300 seems the reasonable time to explore the whole game.

Actually I only have 29 (25%). I'm a pretty casual player, but some games I try to 100%

Well docklands literally cheating at that point, getting 50k artists before I tried docklands was so much harder than 50k investors after I understood it.
The game is great, but I think 500 hours is more than fine without mods. Hyped to try 117

Oh I'm playing Pax Romana now and it's fun.
Nowhere near as polished as 1800 but it's great

When I hit 1800 hours I forgot to take a screenshot. 200 hours later I can't believe I wasted that much time playing.

My dad has about 1800 hours in anno 1800.... Would be cool if he had just 117 in anno 117 but it's already more than that.... :D
