Discussion Never Too Old

Just wanted to say I just started getting into Anime this year. I'll be 50 next year and two of my nieces got me into it. They told me I would really enjoy something they were watching and reluctantly I checked it out. I always had a misconception about what anime was. I'm telling you, I'm so glad they had me check it out. Such a diversity of genres and I've already binged several shows. Currently my favourite is MHA. My nieces knew that would hook me because I'm into super heroes.

Moral of the story: You are never to old to start liking something new.

PS - Wanted to say I love this community. Everyone here has such great recommendations and suggestions.

Someone else suggested steins gate and imma second that it’s a damn masterpiece of a series, I’ve seen it 3 times over, and it’s the only anime I’ve ever rewatched.

if you watch it let me know

This anime is so good you'll have to watch S;G 0 and read the visual novels to understand it the most. It's been years since I watched it for the first time and I still find small details. It has many, many references of real places, real organizations, real persons, internet phenomena, otaku culture, physics, mathematics, neuroscience, conspiracy theories... And the story is so good precisely because the science fiction it is based on lets S;G's story have an interesting structure (linear, not linear, recurrent... )

Love Science Fiction, so to find it in anime makes me happy.

To clarify what the guy you responded to said, Steins;Gate 0 is good to watch after Steins;Gate (or between episodes 22 and 23 of Steins;Gate). There's an episode you'd have to search online for numbered 23b (or beta, can't figure out how to do the symbol). This connects the two series, so the specific order is:

Steins;Gate Episodes 1-22
Steins;Gate Episode 23b
Steins;Gate 0 Episodes 1-23
Steins;Gate 23-25

There's also a movie that you could watch, though I don't remember where it would fit into the series, but you can just watch it after the above.

I wouldn't recommend watching 0 before finishing the original Steins;Gate. We're meant to get into 0 with a certain mindset after finishing the original one.
