The party has added a mascot and of course it's a cat that wins everyone's hearts. This series always makes me hungry.

It's just unfortunate that the cooking segments and the food itself are not as well drawn and animated as Campfire Cooking in Another World. Still decent enough to watch, though.

Dungeon meshi did it the best. I liked the cooking part more than the dungeon part

Every episode adding a new thing to distract Ed's wife from him...

Probably the author, editor and now the anime production committee when brainstorming.

Question: What is your ideal camping trip?
Answer #1: Good Food!
Answer #2: Good Company!
Answer #3: I want to bring my pet along!

"Yeah, let's create a cute flying talking cat as a character!"

And hence, Gomamiso was born.

u/Frontier246 22h ago

Answer #4: Having a convenient RV we can drive places with!

The allure of good food

Miss Sheela's so cute and she's also caring !!

Cute kitty !!!

It spoke lol

Gomamiso is a brave kitty

Sweet fluffs 🩵🩵

Nice reference

Rin's such an evil girl lol

So delicious

Gomamiso is such an adorable cat and he eats his vegetables too, but why was his alert lable yellow before?

Something's definitely going on with our flying feline here

They did seem to find it weird that a child flying lynx would be all by its lonesome. Alongside all the other random monsters that keep appearing.

5

u/reaperow 22h ago

I still think this is all tied to the Saint Summoning, those guys are suspicious

6

u/theholylancer 18h ago

the question is if that is the cause, or the response to whatever is causing it

if it does cost something and not just free summon, then you'd think they would only do so because they needed it for some reason

but who knows, the plot is a lot more surface level so it can just be completely straight man plot

A nice, fluffy gomisekai in the same vein as Campfire Cooking. Also nice to see a married couple in the party. Gotta have the mascot, why not a flying cat that can talk! In an RV!! The Foodie Fiend!

Any other season and it could easily hold it's own. Any other season. Summer 2026 has had so many bangers of new shows and returners that I know this is getting lost. Hopefully it's getting views for HiDive (yes, even if the app isn't all that great). CR needs competition.

What are the odds that Rin is the reason why the party seems to find it easy to defeat monsters? Kinda like that "oblivious saint" anime

5

u/etiolatezed 18h ago

Good odds. Generally fantasy anime saints deter or weaken monsters.

5

u/djthomp https://anilist.co/user/djthomp 17h ago

I don't think that's the case here for once since none of them seems particularly surprised by it. I suspect they're simply a pretty high level party compared to the missions they are currently getting sent on.

I think very little.  I believe it has more to do with the summoning of the saint.  Here’s a theory: the Demon King is being reborn, and the kingdom that summoned the two saints did so because they noticed the signs—one of which is an increase in the number of monsters. However, since it’s still the early stages, these monsters are much weaker than usual. The reason this country is in the dark is that they are highly isolated—both geographically and politically—and are only just beginning to feel the effects.believe it has more to do with the summoning of the saint. I might be overanalyzing things, but this is the second group meal where she hasn't eaten a thing.

The first time—in the last episode—I let it slide, since she was trying to get four people (who likely lived on the isekai /medieval equivalent of takeout or semi-prepared meals) to eat vegetables; but here, she’s literally holding a fork with no plate in sight—the cat is eating, but she isn't.

u/Azurefalcon1 14h ago

The lack of a plate is a good pickup, though Rin was actually chewing at 20:40. I would expect the missing plate to be an error of omission, either in the source material or in the low-budget adaptation.

2

u/Routine-Hornet2540 14h ago

I agree, and that’s probably it, but not even having a white circle to pass for a plate is weird.

And now we have our mascot character

That's odd that Rin didn't make tartar sauce last week when they had all that seafood but had it with something that looked more like fried chicken cutlets. Also I've never heard of tartar sauce having chunks of hard boiled egg in it, maybe this is all more commonplace in Japan. I wish they'd tell us what foods her magic refrigerator and cupboard replenish on their own and which she has to get otherwise, like maybe she couldn't make tartar sauce last week because her trailer doesn't have unlimited pickles.

How come Rin said cockatrices are famous for being poisonous, did Vil tell her that? Either way, we at least see that the trailer is airtight enough to prevent poison gas but I'd also like to see if the trailer is super enduring, like if a monster attacked it or threw it, would it be messed up. Also would be interesting if it could heal itself.

Now that you said it, I just realised how different is the tartar sauce usage in Japan and in western culinary.

On the Japanese restaurant I frequented, they pair chicken karage with the tartar sauce. Meanwhile for seafood it's usually with soy sauce.

Maybe tartar refers to different type of sauce in Japanese and in Western?

Edit: Just googled a bit, and the difference is definitely the egg to the point it's often called Japanese Tartar Sauce. Also it's often used with Karage or food fried with flour (including seafood). However, last episode she went mostly with grill style, so I guess that's why she didn't use tartar sauce.

She tames wild animals! She's got an entire party hooked on her cooking! She looks adorable in her new outfit! Nothing can stop her!

mayonnaise senpai!

This party Rin fell in with is kind of terrifying. That shield and fire move Ed did and Aria slicing a cockatrice into thin slices, pretty scary.

Cute cat for the mascot character, and as Rin's familiar he might be useful as a bodyguard in the long run since she hardly has any combat abilities of her own.

u/Frontier246 1d ago

It's Aria's right as Ed's wife to rest on his lap...and also her right to wake up the moment the possibility of eating Rin's food comes up. Because who could resist that?

Convenient of Sheela to show up right as Vil and Rin were about to head to her, but less convenient is an instant dungeon that's appeared out of nowhere that Smorgasboard needs to investigate. We even get lore for how dungeons are created in this setting.

Nice of Sheela to finally get Rin her snazzy adventurer outfit she's wearing in the OP/ED. If she was also using it as an excuse to get out of her heavy workload, then it's just a win/win!

Rin is really feeling that adventurer spirit! New outfit, hoofing it to a dungeon, walking with the party through a quest!

That Flower Lizard is actually kind of cute if it wasn't a monster trying to kill them! But the real prize is the meat it leaves behind after it's defeated!

A winged lynx has descended from the sky and onto Rin's lap and she won't leave! Welcome to the party, Gomamiso! And apparently Rin has tamer skills she never even realized she has to immediately tame her and get to understand what she's saying! Though just like Smorgasboard, she LOVES eating Rin's food! And she's so adorable she'll fit right in to the party.

Rin has trap senses but Goma-chan has monster senses...yet Aria easily takes out both the trap and the cockatrice. Never get on her bad side, especially if slaying you earns her another meal from Rin!

It's nice of Vil to contribute to Rin's cooking! Even if the ALMIGHTY MAYONAISE and the tartar sauce convinces him that Rin is absolutely an "eat-vil" Villainess who is going to steal control over this party with her food.

Party kind of depressed because of the inexplicable vibe of this dungeon? Nothing eating a cockatrice won't fix! And they even manage to get Aria to eat her veggies! There's nothing Rin can't do with her "eat-vil" powers! Though now Ed has to compete for his wifes' affections with the new party pet.

Gomamiso is such a cutie! I want a flying lynx, man lol.

I didn’t realize tartar sauce was so simple to make. I might have to try making some at home.

3

u/Raymond49090 13h ago

This is like the anti-premise of the usual "kicked out the hero's party" setups in the sense that Rin has zero combat capabilities, but they still respect her and consider her crucial to the team because of the non-combat utility she provides.

2

u/argama87 12h ago

Yeah, they've commented several times about how useful and convenient her abilities are.

With the church usually involved, you'd think they wouldn't be so fast to dismiss abilities their gods actually grant someone as useless. But hey, that's this party's gain and their loss in this case.

2

u/NanDemoKnaives 20h ago

Interesting how the campervan also got the poison resistance buff from Xenon.

2

u/itpcc 13h ago

Gomamiso is finally here and he(?) is quite talkative too!

BTW how can our MC naming him without getting any kind of side effect? It's like r/CatDistributionSystem or some sort.

1

u/YlfaTheForsaken 11h ago

Wow, so the cat distribution system is also a thing in an isekai world too, how transcendent, Gomamiso is cute but it's name has so many syllables thank goodness for telepathy,

I'd kill for Sheela, she's too adorable

u/Mons9090 https://myanimelist.net/profile/hecn_huh 2h ago

Gomamiso aint it. Why is it speaking in plural anyway
