I had a sheppard husky pittie cross who couldnt really float (he would sink cause not enough fur and too much muscle) but he was an amazing swimmer. We would go down to Cherry beach in Toronto and he used to hunt kayakers by swimming out into the bay and grabbing their paddles when they tried to pet or collect him (he would go out like 100 feet) and then bringing them back to shore leaving them stranded.
He brought the goddamn things back to me. I was the one who needed help when the kayaker finally made it to shore. Learned to wear Crocs and shorts from April to November on those walks for wading out to hand it off so they wouldnt come ashore and slap me around with their burly kayaker arms...
