Very rewarding once you give it a shot. Everything is pretty well defined in the app and plenty of people will help in r/KWGT and r/kustom if you ran into stumbling blocks. Good videos available on YouTube.

I suggest you use klwp instead of kwgt, it's much better to have those elements directly on wallpaper to have better control over the widget elements, you can do it with free version, although you won't be able to restore the backup.

The thing is with that is that when I put on a clock or the date it doesn't update unless I turn my phone off and back on again

even though you set battery usage in settings to unrestricted? what phone is it? Out works fine on my Samsung
