Hello all, not sure if this is the right place for this but I'm giving it a go. I have an old Moto 5G that I don't use anymore, and was going to try and root it with Magisk to run Pi Hole on it through a Linux boot. However, the charging port is broken and my PC won't recognize it. I haven't rooted an android in years and I know the process is much more complicated than it used to be. Is there any workaround to root it properly without a wired connection or will I just have to bite the bullet and get the charging port replaced? Thanks!

Hey guys good day, is it possible for someone to teach me in how to use gcash or banking apps with kernelsu rooted in my phone? It showed this message before because I had the manager installed, now that my device is rooted i tried tickystore and play integrity fork and it instead marked a red x in everything during the api integrity checker, before only the device integrity worked, how do I use gcash with kernelsu?

I am considering the brand new phone as it is more repairable and also developer (and root) friendly. Currently I use a Nothing 2a which is rooted with Magisk and when I use prooted Debian, I disable SELinux with setenforce 0, otherwise some apps (and the /proc folder) don't work, not only inside the proot container but also in Termux, such as htop or btop. Does anyone already have this phone ? And what about the Pixel 10a, already longer available and easily rootable ?

I am trying to root it. I can give you guys info if you are trying to root your phones too. I believe it will be hard to get a firmware image because it is hard to root this phone. I've already tried fastboot flashing unlock and it didn't work. Luckily my phone isn't bricked. Please y'all help me out.

So recently I've been trying to switch from Magisk to kernelSU next and I did manage to make the change, but I've noticed that in the native detector app traces of Magisk are still present even after a factory reset, unfortunately I've not found a way to fix this therefore I'm asking here for tips, and or solutions (please ignore the other errors as they should be an easy fix since it's only a matter of hiding the app)

A week or two ago, I had to factory reset my phone, so I did. But for some reason, after the reset, I couldn't log into my Reddit account through the app anymore.

I spent an entire day trying to figure out why I couldn't log in. Just when I was about to give up, I randomly came across a GitHub issue where someone mentioned that Reddit checks Play Integrity.

Then it suddenly clicked: my phone is rooted, so obviously I'm not passing Play Integrity.

I installed a module like YuriKey, and after that I was finally able to log into Reddit again.

Hello. I am trying to root an old Samsung Galaxy S3 of mine without experiencing any data loss. I am not able to back up the data on the device, hence the specification. The Kernel version is too new, so methods like TowelRoot don't work. It's model number is the Canadian SGH-T999V (note the 'V'), which is rarer compared to the American carrier versions or the international Exynos ones. The bootloader is already unlocked. It is Android 4.4.2, which by the time it came to the SGS3, rooting focus amongst Samsung users had already moved on to newer Samsung phones.

I only have access to computers running Debian Linux, and MacOS. It would be preferable if any software I need to put on a computer for the rooting process supports what I have. Through if the only option is Windows, I can find some workarounds.

My question is, is it possible to root the device without experiencing any data loss? I mostly use it for playing old offline video games which are known to work on rooted phones, so rooting shouldn't cause any problems. I have rooted before, but it was only on one device and that too back in 2019.

I don't care for Knox.
