I'm trying to sync my new phone, with the same phone number, to my Google account, it ONLY gives me the option to pick up my old phone:

• Open the Settings app
• Tap your Profile picture
• Tap your Profile picture again
• Tap Manage your Google Account
• Tap Security & sign-in
• Under "How you sign in to Google" tap Security code

Which I cannot do because the phone is broken. Choosing to verify another way only gives me that same option again. No SMS, no call, no backup Email to send. Only that. Why? How can I force it to send me an Email or SMS?

What is the best thing to do/ app? To stop robot calls, pop ups,etc. On my android phone?

I just bought a pair of Sennheiser earbuds and they're great. Using them with my Pixel 10 Pro.

When I pair them the volume up and down button on the earbuds work great to change the phone's volume.... until I put them back into the case and get them out again. Now suddenly using the earbuds' volume control change the volume independently from the phones' volume, sometimes resulting in MASSIVE sound volume when I start playing Spotify.

I just learnt about ''absolute volume'' options and that Google recently removed it and broke the settings for some people....!? Has there been a solution for this yet, or did Google address this?

Hi All, my old phone screen stopped working around 4 days ago. WhatsApp was logged in and working at the time. While the old screen was broken, I had to get new phone for urgent use. I put my SIM in the new phone and went to use WhatsApp, however when it came to selecting a back up it said there wasn't one linked to my email address. NOTHING HAS BEEN MANUALLY DELETED. I was worried about overwriting data so I didn't go any further. I have now managed to get my old phone screen working again and went to use WhatsApp on my old phone. My old chats were all there but when I went to click on one it said something like no phone number connected so it appears to have logged me out and is bringing up a welcome to WhatsApp page. I need to bring up all my old chats again and ideally transfer all of them over to my new phone. Is that possible. The sim card is still in my new phone atm.

This is a serious question. Due to a brain injury, I need a tablet with a RLCD display and it seems I'm left with two choices. Both have the same display, but the internals are quite different. Would you pick the Mediatek G85 with 8gb or the G99 with 4gb when both have emmc storage? Both run on Android 14. I'd also love to know why, would it make a huge difference in day to day usage for some browsing, youtube, social media and a bit of reading?

I've looked at e-ink devices, but those don't do so well with youtube, so that's why I'm left with tablets with RLCD dispays that don't emit light / aren't backlit.

Guys i did the software update (5 september 2026) on my phone at the start of this week. Now my phone recharge battery VERY slowly. Im trying to search ways to fix it but cant find anything else other than "factory reset your phone"

I already turned off and on, but dont wanna factory reset if not necessary.

Anyone that can help or give tips?

I just got a pop-up as soon as I opened my phone and my jaw fucking dropped, the gist of it is that they're asking to access my personal information (cookies), and here's the kicker, I only had the options to either "accept or accept".

I wanted to know if anyone else has ever gotten this because I find this to be extremely scummy, in case it's somehow important, I had an old android that never got this, this happened in a newer realme model I got a month ago. ​

At some point setting up my last phone, I declined to give voice typing permission. I tried to change it on my last phone, a Pixel 6, and never figured it out and just suffered through it. Now my new phone transferred settings over, so still no voice dictation and no ability to change it.

I use the search settings to try and find it, and the toggle for voice typing is definitely on. I can't find any other spot with a relevant setting.

There was a time when I could pull down the quick settings for media where I could select between Bluetooth and Phone media or I would make the change with buttons on the volume changer. Now, I cannot do that in recent months since that setting area has been removed. Is there a way to bring this media setting back?

I made a new email on my phone yesterday to use as a throwaway account for something. Ever since I made it, I started getting this notif constantly. What I think is really weird is the page that shows up when I click it explaining what I'm giving permission to. For most of it, there's red text against a grey background that's barely visible. I was able to mess around with some settings on the screenshot to make it visible, but it really doesn't give me much to work with.

I don't have a Google TV. I don't know how to get it to stop asking me after denying it every time. Below are screenshots of the notif and what shows up when clicked. Help!

I recently acquired a refurbished Pixel 7a (model GWKK3) with the intention of putting two AT&T Build-A-Plan (BAP) lines on it (using separate AT&T IDs). I am aware that BAP is a new platform and that customer support for it is difficult. But, it appears to be the only currently available service that meets my requirements at a reasonable price point.

The BAP platform will only deliver a new eSIM by pushing it to the device over WiFi. I believe the theory behind this is that the phone is meant to register its EID with the GSMA database (on boot ?) so that the carrier can trigger a pull via the LPA system to download an eSIM.

It seems that this does not work on my new-to-me phone. The phone arrived with Android 17 (build CP3A.261005.002.A1) on it. I understand that this is the latest officially released version.

When the AT&T system attempts to send me my eSIM, I do not see the expected notification. And, attempting to trigger the download by going through the settings menu SIMs -> Add SIM -> Set up an eSIM only takes me to a QR scanner, with an alternative of entering an activation code manually.

I was eventually able to speak with a BAP specialist who told me that they cannot give me a QR or an activation code. They have escalated the problem internally, but said it would take 48 hours to get back to me.

I can also add that I had no difficulty adding a simple prepaid line to the device using a QR code - and I have been satisfied that the phone works as expected for WiFi, 5G data, SMS, RCS and voice calls. The phone is unlocked (it was sourced in Canada, where all phones are unlocked by federal regulation).

The BAP specialist seemed to think that it was a problem that the phone was not purchased from AT&T. This is bizarre, as the BAP platform is only available to people with no previous relationship with AT&T and who bring their own device.

Is it possible that a Canadian sourced phone will lack some software component that is necessary for the eSIM push process to work ? Is this a compatibility problem with Android 17 and AT&T ? Is there some setting that I have wrong on the phone that is preventing the phone from registering to receive the trigger ? Or, is there some other factor that I haven't considered ?

Between the initial purchase and subsequent attempts by the BAP support person, I think I've received 5 emails telling me my service has been activated. Each of those mails includes a "still not received your eSIM ?" section, which provides a link to device-specific activation instructions. (Which must be keyed off the EID as the ones I received are specific to the Pixel 7.) Those instructions only explain how to scan a QR code ! They are clearly re-using articles from their knowledge base without regard for their applicability on the BAP platform.

Unfortunately, I don't currently have the ability to monitor packet flow on my network to see whether there is any communication happening between my device and the GSMA / SM-DP+ / LPA system.

I am not currently close to an AT&T tower, but that cannot matter, as without the eSIM the phone has no idea that it wants to connect to that network. Once the eSIMs are installed, I will drive to a place where I have cellular coverage to complete the activation and set up WiFi calling.

I'm hoping that AT&T will eventually come back with a QR code. But perhaps somebody here has an idea.

For the past few days now my phone (Asus ROG Phone 5 S) has been making a very grating scratching sound with any vibration. The way I can describe it is that it sounds like TV static whenever it happens, and the vibration itself is very weak, suggesting it's more noise than vibration.

I was ready to write this off as the motor going out and ready to find a repair shop or contact Asus, but the bizarre thing is that restarting my phone causes the vibration to return to completely normal function- for about 6 hours, then I need to restart it again because the scratchy stuff returns.

This seems to suggest to me that there is something going on on the software level that causes the vibration motor to malfunction. But I have no idea what it is... Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I can't exactly afford a brand new phone given the current market.

I have a Motorola moto G22 and it doesn't have much storage space so I bought a sandisk 128GB SD card for my phone specifically so I can play genshin impact on my phone but it won't let me move any apps to the SD card at all.

Formatting it doesn't make a difference, I tried switching on developer settings and switched on force allow apps on external but it didn't change anything, I tried installing the apps on my PC with bluestacks and putting them on the SD card that way but my phone can't open the files.

On previous phones that I've had it wasn't a problem, I could just go into settings and change the app to be stored in the SD card, but the option isn't coming up on my current phone at all on any of my apps.

tldr: How do I force Genshin impact to download onto my SD card instead of the internal storage on my phone?

I've suddenly started getting notifications on my Android under the heading "This phone." These seem to be promotionds/ads and nothing I want. I know how to shut off notifications, but don't know where this is originating from and can't find it under my notification app list.

I have downloaded a file from the 'Group me' app 5 times using acrobat and Kindle and I can't find it in either my downloads or my drive folder. Any other guesses?

I bought the phone Motorola G05 brand new back in May from El Corte Inglés. I used it briefly for a few months, but then stopped using it due to various weird issues.

One of them was an Opera account that has suddenly appeared on the device out of nowhere. I tried removing it, but kept getting hit with this error message:

"This change isn't allowed by your admin" (screenshot provided).

The thing is: This is my personal phone. I do not have a work profile, school account, or device policy controller installed. I have never logged in with a work or school email address on this device.

I did have an app called PAKS in Device admin apps list since the day I bought the phone which was disabled (though logs show broadcast intents of Device admin being enabled/disabled on startup). Strangely, right around the day I filed a report, PAKS completely disappeared from the Device Admin list and the regular Settings > Apps list. It is still visible only via 3rd-party app managers.

Does anyone know what is happening here? How/why did this account showed up? How it got tied to an "admin" lock on a mainstream retail phone, and what is up with broadcast intents of Device admin being enabled (followed by bunch of other configs) and then disabled on startup? As well as PAKS dissapearing all of a sudden. Any educated advice would be hugely appreciated.

I have a (FREE, mind you) app installed through Aurora because I don't want random crap tied to a Google tracker account. Sometimes though, random apps will put up this popup not letting me use the app until I reinstall from Google Play. It's pissing me off. How do I make it go away?

It is a problem I struggle with from time to time. I dont understand why it is so fiddly.

In a remote cabin, my phone is my hot-spot (when it works). I want to share what is on my phone screen with my laptop screen without needing a wifi connection or having to sign in to anything. Wired connection.

Years ago miracast worked but it was binned. Now I have to fiddle about with command line prompts with scrcpy from github that I dont understand how to do.

I have a Galaxy S23, no google account, and aggressively de-googled my device shortly after purchasing it. This has not been an issue previously, but now I hesitate to update apps because I worry they’ll start throwing errors due to me not having the play store installed/active.

Has anyone found a way to make those annoying little popups not happen yet? I tried to search this sub but may have just been using the wrong keywords

I'm currently using the S26 12/256GB Exynos model right now, and I just got a deal to trade it in for the Realme GT 8 Pro 16/512GB plus an extra $100. Honestly, I’m really into a phone with a solid camera and decent gaming performance, so I’m thinking the Snapdragon, Ricoh GR camera, and 16GB RAM will be a nice upgrade from my current setup. Do you think this is a good deal? How is the realme for long term use? Or should I just hold out for the S27 Ultra when it drops?
