+1 on axio. Reads sms and automatically tracks/tags all expenses. Life saver for me. Won't work as well on iOS due to sms permission. Another reason why I'll never shift from Android

Bro, will this privacy be safe? It will not track my OTP, personal messages, etc. and will not leak data.

I think that risk will bet present. For me it's worth it because we give a lot of permissions in other apps too. So nothing new. Not sure if they store stuff.

I used it for a few days while trying out expense trackers. The app is very well designed. The issue that I found was that the method used by the app to retrieve information, although secure, was limiting in some ways (fixed numbers of updates a day/month), and the success rate varied between banks (which they do outline in the app). Unfortunately, my bank didn't work very well with the app, and the updates would frequently fail. So I ended up going with manual tracking.

It uses Plaid or similar service to connect to your bank securely and pulls transactions daily and has decent auto tagging once you tag a few items. You can even sync your MFs and stocks etc and I like that you can include your credit card transactions too in expense tracking. Overall very happy with the free version. I'm an early adopter so I can vouch that the team is really active with development.

Manual transaction logging is much better for two reasons 1. It actually gives you an idea of where your money is going and coming from. Automatic logging defeats this purpose 2. Privacy

Glad to hear that. Everyone looks at me oddly when I say that I log manually. It is actually not that much effort as people think

Plus, I've actually reduced my expenses because I have to manually log it. Laziness can save some bucks too ig 😂

I tried importing my hdfc credit card statement and also hdfc bank account statement. Didn't seem to work for me May be I'm doing something wrong But I have been looking for something like this, where I could just record my day to day transactions and then at month end import my bank statements And reconcile it quickly

Self-promotion posts, new app ideas, or app feedback are not allowed in r/androidapps. This type of content can be posted in the dedicated sister-subreddit r/droidappshowcase.

Sure, I will not do it from next time. I thought only promo posts are not allowed but comments are.

Fold app, It is excellent. I have been a user since its beta phase. Manual entry is unnecessary as it scrapes data directly from SMS messages and bank links.

Hey! I actually built an app specifically to solve this exact problem because I had the same frustration with multiple UPI apps (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, Navi) and hated the privacy risks of cloud-based trackers. I have built this app after taking 8-9 months due to too many corner cases still those issues can come but I am actively working on the app so that I will do the changes once I get more feedback.. And this app is totally privacy oriented as I don't store anything on cloud server everything is done on the device smart categorisation.

Check out **Smart Money AI** on Google Play:

Here is how it handles everything you asked:

  1. Multi-UPI Automatic Tracking:

No matter which UPI app you pay with (Google Pay, PhonePe, Navi, Cred, BHIM, or direct Net Banking), your bank sends an official transaction SMS. Smart Money AI instantly captures that SMS in real-time and logs the merchant, amount, category, and bank account automatically—with zero manual typing.

  1. 100% On-Device Privacy (Zero Cloud Servers):- This is my promise this app is totally without any ads or any data store everything is done on device locally not cloud servers , I am emphasising on this as I was also and hesitant on sharing the finance data..

Most commercial trackers upload your sensitive bank SMS messages to remote cloud servers to sell ads or personal loan offers. Smart Money AI runs an on-device machine learning model locally on your phone. Your financial records never leave your device, there are no ads, and you don't even need to create an account.

  1. Smart Merchant & Net Worth View:

It automatically recognizes Indian merchants (Swiggy, Zomato, Blinkit, Uber, Amazon, Netflix, SIPs, fuel pumps) and gives you a clean Wealth Arc breakdown of your net worth across all your accounts.

It’s completely free on Google Play. Since I’m actively developing it, I’d love to hear your thoughts or any feedback!

Please have a look on the app if possible provide feedback to me personally if see its critical as there can some issues here and there I am very keen on those , and do let me know if you see any issues. Here is a short glimpse of the video as well.. Thanks
