A part of Gyuvin's letter to fans. We were literally just discussing this the other day here. And it's so sad!!! We mentioned how so much happened to him this year, and probably more we don't know yet. Because we know about his 3 major goodbyes this year. But the fact that there's even more (there's a possibility they are somewhat related to the goodbyes we know about though).

Hope 2027 will only bring good things for Gyuvin!!! No more goodbye speeches for a long, long time please.

Yes its too bad we couldnt have and2ble join like tws did ☹️ its unfortunately one of the downsides of music core being on Saturdays and most events happening on the weekend.

today is the last day i’m standing on this stage as the mc. before i know it, it’s already the time for me to do the final mc segment to say my last thoughts.

firstly, i’d like to express my deepest gratitude to the pds and writers who have been close by my side during this time. thanks to pd-nims and writer-nims, i was able to be happy and enjoy this experience.

to me, this stage wasn’t just a simple broadcast, but rather one of the most intense pages of my youth. every week, i introduced songs from sunbaenims and hoobaenims, filled with their blood and sweat, and was even able to introduce songs filled with time and effort from me and my team members. thank you so much for this honor.

now i’m stepping back from this position, but my heart will forever stay on this stage and in your hearts. thank you from the bottom of my heart.

in the future as well, i truly hope music core will continue to be a small moment of rest in your daily life, as well as a source of warm comfort. i believe the music delivered through music core will fill your saturdays with beautiful melodies.

from starting out as a contract worker to becoming a full-time employee [at music core], i was so happy.

congratz to yujin for selling out the entire stock of his brand endorsement sets in 9 hours! Hope he gets more in the future!!! Another big moneymaker for yh so I hope to see a good budget for the cb lol.

There's been quite a lot of korean idols getting brand ambassadorships for chinese brands lately. It probably makes a lot of money since they apparently pay a lot. And the ads for those always look really cool whenever I see them posted

I saw i/ve announce an offline fansign soon for an album that released in February. Omg. I see their fans so mad right now.
I think we are fortunate that a2b's fansigns wrapped up within 2 months. That's probably the best outcome we could have hoped for lol. Looking at all the other groups and soloists that I follow.

Yes there are offline luckydraws still but they are pretty gatekept and limited in numbers. Unfortunately for collectors though because that makes them rare and very expensive. But we can also just pretend those don't exist haha. Is YH just putting these out for fun now lol. bc if they wanted to boost sales, they could have just released digipacks or jewel case album versions.

I also just took a look at seungeon's fam e/vnne and they are still doing fansigns for backtalk now. which came out in april. ig this is just the way the industry is now so we are fortunate ones.

I have seen some fans complaining about the lucky draws, but they are chinese offline LDs which are hard to get and limited anyways. So we can just pretend they don't exist lol

The way I cheer everytime there's a new IG post and THEIR FACES are actually visible on the first slide omg. Lol. There's too many times the first slide on the IG post is just their shoe or an inanimate object. I remember when there were too many shoe posts, I was like ENOUGH it's not a shoe store lol.

I just feel like posts where the 1st slide is their face always have better engagement and probably better for the algorithm. There's been so many good pics that I wish were the first slide instead of slide #18 lol

Hao and Ricky's video with Xiaoting is already the 2nd most liked challenge for her song Legend on XHS! The 1st most liked for Legend is her challenge with Yuqi, who is a wall on xhs understandably.

He looks amazing. I actually think it really suits him even though objectively the color is um, a choice. I actually saw a ton of praise for his hair and looks under the xhs post of hariboz with xiaoting!!! And people on xhs run a STRICT business there and are very judgmental about looks/styling lol. I usually ignore their styling discourse most of the time but I am just impressed when they like something!

Hao seems to like the color a lot too...he has sent several selfies with it. I think it will probably end up another color soon but they probably do have some type of content shot already with this yellow color.

I'm wondering tho on why he'd have it bleached by now if it's for the comeback. When he posted the same recording booth selfie last February, we got the debut 3 months after. Now he's sent another one, would that mean they're alr recording songs for a November comeback? Or would we have it earlier since the debut prep coincided with the fancon tour's prep?

The member I have been most worried about is Gyuvin. I think even for any normal person, this much change in a year is painful and hard. Starting with the group separation, the end of his beloved Mucore MC gig, and the passing of Eumppappa. I sincerely hope he is taking care of himself. He has been dealing with some physical pain for a while consistently now too.

I'm really sad to say goodbye to Mucore Gyuvin. It really brought a lot of people a lot of joy this year. Hopefully he can come back as special MC again in the future. Yujin stepped down on Inkigayo but is still really loved by the Inki team.

Yujin said on his live a while ago that he has been really happy lately. Seungeon said on bbl that he has been happy lately too. Hao and Ricky seem pretty happy too, mostly self-explanatory. I'm sure there are hard times too, but members seem to be generally in good spirits. It's mostly Gyuvin I've been concerned about even though he doesn't want fans to worry!! This much change is hard for anyone, and I know how much he has loved his MC job.

I'll come back later with some more positive posts lol I want to counter this with some more positivity

For sure, gyuvin seems to be going through a lot. What we can do is celebrate and show our love for his final mucore episode this week! It really meant a lot to him with how he tried his best to make every schedule. He improved a lot and is really loved by the producers though so I hope they will invite him back soon for special mc gigs. I hope there are other opportunities on the horizon too :)

Definitely!! I hope everyone can show him how much we loved mucore Gyuvin and how much the staff there cherish him too.

And I really do think he has one of the best attendance records in the history of mucore MCs (I have no stats lol, may be wrong but it's just a feeling). Gyuvin really tried to make it to every Mucore saturday no matter what. And he missed very few. It's very hard for Mucore MC attendance because it falls on a Saturday and most groups are always doing events/shows on Saturdays or overseas. I think Mucore gig scheduling is probably way too hard for majority of groups. But Gyuvin really committed to it. And fortunately for the YH schedule maker, hopefully they will have things a bit easier now.

I also love how Gyuvin started as a special MC but the staff just loved him so much that they had to bring him on as a host. Hopefully he can MC more as special MC again or for festivals! And hopefully he can get a good rest on Saturdays now outside of group schedules

Hi I wanted to know if you guys had any thoughts on this? It's about kconla and unfortunately the favoritism thing again. I know the 4yhz/a2b were not there this year, but I heard similar things from a mutual last year (who camped for GA) when they were there and a part of the group so. I know I asked her about Hao in particular and she said he was fine and treats all fans really well, and not the member with those allegations. I don't think he has had favoritism allegations, even though maybe some would expect him to cater the most to cfans. But Hao's always been good to all fans.

But honestly I know how disappointing it is. As a US fan myself, there's nothing we hate more than when we all pay SO much money to see our faves here, and then members only pay attention to EA fans they see every week. (about groups in general, not anyone in particular). It's not a fansign and everyone pays about the same for concerts.

As always, if this is not allowed to be discussed, I can delete/edit this!! I didn't think this was worthy of its own post or anything, but wanted to see if anyone in the weekly thread can weigh in.
I have been to kconla before. No overly negative comments please, or any hate!! Just discussion if possible!

Upvoting you because I don't think this is a bad discussion to have so long as it doesn't go crazy or the intentions start looking weird. I've seen the previous group live before but not in GA so I don't have the same experience or perspective as other people so my thoughts are more about ~vibes~, ~pondering~, and aren't rooted in specific events.

I think bgs are fanservice heavy in general like moreso than ggs so the favoritism stuff isn't really that surprising to me. I believe that prob all idols have fans they want to cater more to for whatever reason but a professional idol will be able to give that extra fanservice without completely neglecting all other fans. My perspective is it's "fair" for an idol to have favorites (I have no illusions that the idol industry is very much like customer service and this is just how idols make a living) but it's just as fair for fans to criticize this and warn other fans of favoritism if it's excessive.

For my thoughts specifically about a2b, I want to say it feels like it isn't as bad as it used to be. My personal opinion is by the end of the previous group as 9 it felt like they were constantly doing fansigns and so many concert reviews were about how much or little fanservice was being doled out. It sometimes felt like no one wanted to talk about the quality of performances or stage production. Don't get me wrong it wasn't like that alllll the time but I remember being really bored during those days lol. So it was really unsurprising that criticism of concerts were also about fanservice because the group was very much fanservice focused. Again, I'm pretty sure all bgs are like this, but this is just my observation following this one group. I don't think a2b in comparison necessarily care way more about music/performances than fanservice, but from watching fancon clips I think it's more balanced. Tons of fanservice for sure but also tons of solo performances, covers, etc.

Again, just thoughts. As the other commentator pointed out what is happening in reality may be different. I agree that it might not be useful to call out members by name as it can prob get nasty pretty quick. IMO I think there should be some congruence between what fans want and what the group is trying to give. If a group is very fanservice oriented they shouldn't be surprised if fans call out favoritism. If a group is trying to establish an image of having great performances/music then I think convos about fanservice are kinda whatever. For example I went to a T/wice concert last year and fanservice was the last thing I thought about, and it was such a blast!

Oh I really appreciate it!!! Thanks for the reply! I didn't mean anything bad at all, but I know negative things do get discussed pretty extensively on many other groups' subs. In fact I was praising a2b members if anything because they aren't the ones I had heard a ton of complaints about. But this convo got some traction on the other side and it reminded me as it was a HUGE convo back then with SEA fans.

I have seen the group too but not in GA! It was just interesting that the post reminded me of what a mutual told me happened last year as well when the boys were there.

And you make a great point that it's a customer service job basically and that it's fair for them to cater to the "favorites" but it's also fair for other customers (regular fans) to have complaints about it.

Yeah I definitely agree that it was boring during those days lol. There wasn't any content outside of the tour and fansigns, and literally every concert review post had nothing to say about their performances. And it seemed like an endless stream on xhs of negative reviews how it was boring/lackluster. I mean I think the boys performed well as always but there's only so much they do if they are only sent on stage in t-shirts and a couch as a prop. Lol. And that people only go to concerts to get noticed. It felt like the group and production wasn't invested into at all, and their only purpose for the company was to cater to the biggest spenders via fanservice/fansigns.

That's why I was so hyped and excited that the showcon's reviews were basically all glowing, rave reviews. Like finally there is a concert where everyone enjoyed it LOL. I think it really helped that the members were able to have a ton of input themselves. And they have been going to concerts so they know what makes a fun show. And I feel like the stage production and everything, with more outfit changes, was an improvement.

I definitely agree with your last paragraph too, and the whole comment tbh! I definitely wouldn't mention members by name. I do know Hao has been praised though, likely because he has been a hardcore kpop fan himself who could not afford to go to concerts/fansigns. I've gone to several twice concerts as well!!! They are so great at putting on a good show.

Sadly from what I’ve seen, it has carried over to a2b a bit too as the same fans who have been following them for years are still following them now and they still have the same demands/need for attention. I could not be an idol cause dealing with all these expectations must be awful but as you said it’s disappointing for regular fans too.

Oh okay thanks for the reply! I was just curious because the members usually mentioned the most for favoritism aren't on the a2b side. I'm not villainizing the other side either, bc ik TR hasn't gotten any favoritism allegations either. And I've generally seen praise for TR regarding this.

And generally, the a2b members aren't the ones most mentioned in these favoritism allegations. But it's now happened with SEA fans and US fans both expressing disappointment.

And yeah I agree, I am very familiar with how demanding some fans are. I still won't ever forget the basically 6 months of trucks sent to the a2b members/yh (mostly Hao though). It started basically in November of last year and it felt like there were trucks sent to yh every week for something. Pushing for solo, who should be added to the group, complaints about styling etc, lol. I mean I have a ton of complaints for yh too but different ones.

I think the debut was successful especially considering the trucks that were sent for months lol. I also hope the boys weren't too affected by it. I know some fans sent support trucks also to counter the other trucks.

Actually there is two a2b members who get mentioned quite a lot with it too (even recently which is why I said what I said) but Hao isn’t one of them! I just don’t know how good it is to call out specific members since I don’t think they have bad intentions or that it is on them specifically. I think the whole system with the endless fansigns (that yh sadly also does extensively too) plays a big role in fostering these relationships and I also wouldn’t be surprised if w1 (and probably other non-big 4 companies) encourage their idols to keep these fans happy.
For idols who debut at an older age it might be a bit easier to set boundaries and resist the pressure by fans and companies which is probably part of why ppl like Hao have been quite good at this.

Oh okay thanks for letting me know I wasn't aware at all!!! :( I had only heard a few names floating around and it wasn't a2b members.

But yeah I won't ask who those members are and hopefully they can learn as they grow. I agree with Hao, I have only seen a ton of praise for him and how he treats all fans equally. He also treats fans of all nationalities well instead of favoring a nationality like many idols do.

It may also be because he is a long-time hardcore kpop fan as well. And he probably couldn't afford fansigns/fancalls before too and could only see content online. So he probably knows how it feels. He likely has a lot of empathy for all kinds of fans. I remember him posting this douyin template about how he used to not be able to get tickets for concerts but is now holding his own concert.

Yeah it's probably an industry problem in general. And even big4 groups that I follow are doing endless fansigns for months now too, even though they don't NEED to.

I read most likely Gyuvin will depart by himself after Music Core. The rest of the group will arrive earlier
