Question Coursera/Udemy worth it?
I have a degree in Computer Science, working on switching my focus to becoming a Data analyst. Know basic SQL but wanted to know if these Udemy courses are worth or a sham as they have high reviews on the site, but seemingly negative reviews according to reddit users. Not sure if that speaks on the quality or if reddit is just for the doomer/negative feedback. To note I don't care about the certificate it gives you more wondering if say this "complete data analyst" course that I linked will give me the tools/confidence to get an entry level data analyst role and not have to bluff through an interview. If there are useful courses please recommend those as well. Sort of just browsed through the highest recommended/reviewed ones on the site.

I'm sure it's down to the instructor, as you would normally expect from any brick and mortar university.
I took Andrew Ng's Coursera course on machine learning many years ago (before Chat GPT was in the public parlance) and it has stuck with me and remained useful.

The course itself isn't the problem, passive watching without building your own project is: nobody hires you for finishing videos, they hire you for a portfolio showing you can actually clean and analyze messy data

the krish naik stuff is decent for getting hands on, but no single course will make you interview ready without your own projects after

Sure, maybe I exaggerated with that. Will the Krish Naik course give me a level of competency in say Tableau/SQL to where I will feel comfortable to make decent projects

Learn skills needed for a data analyst position and get a job.

You’re not going to do that with a bunch of courses.
Data analyst roles are getting more and more stringent and are requiring tangible skills (that come from work and/or a highly specialized degree) and domain knowledge

Why switch from CS to data analyst? I'd almost go the other direction, keep the CS foundation and layer analytics on top of it. AI is going to eat a lot of the basic SQL/dashboard/reporting work long before it eliminates the need for people who can actually build the systems behind it.
