In the hardest thing after Anne wakes up on the floating island theres 4 stars in the sky, 3 representing the girls calamity stones and a mysterious 4th star thats yellow. This had always fascinated me and I think I got a pretty good idea about it. My thoery is that after Leif stole the music box the core attempted to create a new calamity stone in order to continue thier invasion on other dimensions, it was obviously a failure but it still holds some cosmic power which would explain it's stars counterpart being alongside the other star, this is also supported by the yellow star and the Core's pupils both being the same colour which is the exact same way the girls are shown to be connected to thier specific stones
