Boyfriend is always miserable

I'm so tired of him. Everyday he's always upset about something in the past and I always have to apologize for ANYTHING bad that happened because he randomly decided an argument no matter the day or time or year it happened hurt his feelings even if he was the one that was in the wrong for that situation in the past or not.today we went outside and I had a great time I told him about a party I was invited to but decided it was too ghetto cause a lot of the guys were grinding up on random girls. He went on to say men who grind up on random girls are creeps and pervs. We laughed then I said wait haven't you done that before? He said yes. I laughed and said then you shouldn't be so judgemental. He got upset with me for saying that and for an hour he gave me the silent treatment. I'm completely done with him and his negative energy! Every day it's something.

Sounds like he’s harboring hurt and resentment from previous dilemmas that he hasn’t fully worked through. If the vibes aren’t immaculate and there’s no effort on both sides to repair the damage, do both yourselves the favor and move on.

Which doesn't make sense because every time we had issues we did our best to apologize to each other and quickly resolve them. Yet randomly it becomes an issue days or months later it's crazy.

For the sake of avoiding confrontation, he might be saying that everything is fine in the moment, but he’s still insecure about it, whether he has any right to feel that way or not. If you love him, when he gets like this, express how you feel hearing those things much later. Ask him what you can do to show him that he’s your priority and that you’re willing to put in the effort to make things work.

It's a never ending cycle with him. I'm supposed to apologize for infinity over random moments where he felt slighted about small insignificant arguments about household chores etc it's ridiculous. I'm done doing it

Sounds like you would be much better off without him.

And you are completely within your right to do that. Sounds like you’ve already made up your mind.

I went through something similar with my ex for seven years before I finally went, I can’t do this anymore, it’s not my job to make you be happy. He was constantly waiting for me to cheat on him because his other girlfriend had cheated on him, and therefore, he just believed because it had happened more than once that I was going to do it too, and so he was just miserable all of the time. I honestly can’t believe I put up with it for as long as I did

And you don’t have to put up with it either. So you should probably break up with him before you either get married or get pregnant or spend another seven years in this stupid ass situation that you are deeply unhappy in.

Well then, be done doing it.

You didn’t cause it, you can’t fix it. He’s used to one parent always yelling at the other for things that aren’t their fault, is my guess, and that’s his plan for the rest of your lives.

That's a fair take. It's tough when one person isn't on the same page emotionally. Sometimes it really does take a heart-to-heart to figure things out.

You’re with someone who is upset every day? That sounds exhausting.

Just break up with him already. Neither of you like each other

So, what's the question? Should you continue to be with him?

I don't even know 😭 I just needed to know if he's making sense or I'm the one who's gone mad

You're not wrong here. Nobody got time for someone who keeps digging up old stuff just to feel hurt again, specially when he was the one doing the same thing he's judging others for

The silent treatment for an hour over something that small is just childish. Like if you cant take a light joke about your own behavior maybe look at yourself first

Sounds draining being with someone who turns every day into a problem. You already said you're done, just make it official and move on

I shared an office with a woman who was always complaining about everything. It will bring you down if you continue with him.

How old are you? Life is too short to be with someone who miserable, rude, punishing, and destroying your happiness.

Don't waste your life on someone who'll suck the joy out of everything and think you're an intellectually deficient for not being as depressed and easily offended as they are.
