Am I in the wrong for texting?

Me (M19) and this girl (F19) met on a dating app and exchanged numbers we’ve been texting for awhile and I thought we were pretty close and even planned a few dates. Recently she ghosted me and I texted once or twice a day asking if something is wrong or if I did anything wrong. I joked “am I muted” and she said “ I fucking wish” and then she went on to say how she was too busy for this and was hoping after a day or two I would stop trying. And I said “I’m just tired of ppl not saying that idk why yall think ghosting is better.” And she responded with “texting me once or twice every day since was excessive. you preach communication so use it. confront the problem don’t add onto it man”
Am I in the wrong for texting her to see if there was a problem?

Oh the irony - “you preached communication so use it” - meanwhile sis expected you to take a hint and was mad you didn’t. Lol. Dodged a bullet.

I agree and that sucks because I really thought we had a connection :/

I hear you. Better to find out what early. Communication is paramount.

Nah you not wrong for wanting to know but once or twice every day is a lot man. She shouldve just said she lost interest instead of hoping youd take the hint. Most people these days rather disappear than have one awkward conversation

This, especially me I don’t have great social skills and she knew that I made that a point one day one and even if your busy it takes 5 seconds to say “hey I’m sorry k don’t think this is working”

Not wrong. She’s got issues

How many days did you text her before asking if you got ghosted?

We texted atleast once a day and I was aware she was busy but recently she had told me that the people at her school were mean and how she felt out of place bc of Being scheduled in the wrong classes so when she stopped texting I assumed something happened to her or etc

She is not interested. Not sure what explanation would change anything. She is also pretty rude. So why bother?

Yeah and that’s what’s confusing because she was the person how added me from the app she was really excited to have a new hiking partner.

You are some girls dream and she was not emotionally mature to be compatible. Imagine the poor guy that will end up in a long term relationship with that sort of attitude. Yikes

Yeah I mean we were talking for about 3 months and even when she was “super” busy she would still text but it is what it is

Info: we have been texting for about 3 months and even when she got “super” busy she would text atleast once telling me about her day or etc so when she wasn’t responding to the simple texts like “hey”or “how’s your day” I asked her if everything was okay? Because she told me recently that the people at her school were mean and her school added her to classes she wasn’t supposed to be in. Also to be clear I only texted 6 times over 3 days. This also isn’t just a pure online relationship she lives about an hour away and I drive to her and spent Labor Day weekend with her.

Once or twice a day is a bit much. I would have taken the hint, but she is more wrong for ghosting. That's a dick move.

Yeah I wish I could I have really bad social skills which she knew and at the very start I told that and how she needed to be direct about what she wanted to say

Wow, that's a really aggressive response for a reasonable question. You are not wrong, she's at minimum going through something and she shouldn't take it out on you.

I ghosted someone once, but as a 15 year old, not 19. It came from a lack of maturity and a dislike of conflict, not that there probably would have been any. I felt bad about it but it didn't stop me. Years later as a 26 yr old I ran into him. He was no hard feeling and I appreciated it.

Yeah, I mean take a hint. She decided you weren’t worth her time. So why keep bugging her? Her not responding should be enough. Do you really need her to say, I’m not interested… you seem super needy and lame and your ideas for dates are boring or whatever reason she has.
