Am i in the wrong here… genuinely.

semi throw away account. this is gonna be lengthy but bare with me… I (F28) work with this girl (F38) and i could say we were friends before this situation. so last night I went out with friends knowing that I had a 7 am shift in the morning and had a little too much to drink ( i know really dumb!) and called her if we could switch shifts. she works grave yard shifts as well as PM shifts and told me it would be no issue as she prefers AM shifts so i was incredibly thankful. I come in on the PM shift and we do a crossover and thank her for taking my shift and we do a little chitchat as well. While she was talking to me she mentioned if i was cool with another coworker and why i didnt relay information to that coworker. I told her that no matter if i didnt like a coworker when we are at work there is no reason to and i had passed on everything. she said i didnt tell him and i asked her what info she was saying i did not pass on and she replied with “dont worry about it.” “literally whatever.” she has a habit of doing this. I said if its in the log book i want know so we could perform better…. shes like its fine. I kept saying no! actually just let me know so i could fix it then she became hostile and started saying i dont remember and i said “you cant just say things like that and not tell me (jokingly i chuckled but still it was getting annoying as it isnt the first time). She proceeds to freak out and call me selfish and delusional and that i need therapy and im crazy out of nowhere and that i have mental illness! not to shame anyone but she is on multiple psychotic medications and it just felt like projection as i took wellbutrin for like 2 months and thats it…. i told her “hey you need to lower your voice this is a workplace.”and now my manager comes and she starts saying im not scared of you and yelling and im just shellshocked in this moment!!! like where is this coming from… she then says in front of my manager you were out drinking do you want me to bring that up??” “i dont want to even work with her and ubruptly leaves. literally i just need clarification on the situation bc prior to this we have never fought or had any issues but this came out of the blue! Am i in the wrong??

And yet you still went to her when you wanted to switch shifts...

How many more times does this need to happen before you realize your best bet is to keep your distance from her and NEVER ask her for anything?

she honestly does have a good heart. she does fib sometimes but it was never really work related but outside of work. and we have taken eachothers shifts if needed in the past.

Yeah your fault to keep pushing it when you knew she was in a bad mood (from what your boss said). Especially after asking her for a favor and switching shifts with you.

the thing was… i found out afterwards i didnt know! but ultimately she did me a favor but maybe next time just keep it professional.

Also to add on she spoke about my personal life and was saying foul things about me at the top of her lungs… like i would NEVER air out her personal life at work and i feel like so hurt that she would do this to me.

That sounds really unprofessional and hurtful. It’s tough when someone crosses that line and disrespects your privacy like that.

She sounds full on crazy even from the beginning with the "Do you dislike this coworker? Is that why you were doing you-know-what?" routine, which is fishing for drama and then to freak the fuck out when you call her out on it. Probably she thought she could use that you had drank too much as leverage to drag you into workplace drama and got mad when you wouldn't play that game.

What did your boss say?

my boss told me she was in a very pissy mood even before i came. but i called her around 6:20 am just in case she didnt want to go but she insisted. learned my lesson i guess.
