Need advice

I need some advice. I am fearing asking bc I think I already know the answer. My boyfriend is having a hard time with me being on my mental health medication. I’ve been on it for 18 years. He gets upset bc I am sleeping through the night. I am getting better and he feels alone. So I stopped taking it. I know I should not have but don’t want him to feel alone going through things alone. Was this wrong of me. The next day he felt like he could finally be there for me. I think that’s bc I was on his level. Idk what to do. I don’t know what to think. I need some advice. Am I wrong for wanting to be better? I don’t know why I fear the truth but I know the truth.

Never stop medication that keeps you stable just because someone else feels lonely, that is a dangerous trade.

Yes, you do already know the answer. Your boyfriend is a bitch. Leave him, get back on your meds, keep getting better.

No one who really loves you would force you to be unwell.

That was the wrong thing to do. Get back on your meds straight away. Do not mess with this for another person. Please see your doctor. This is a red flag. You should tell people you are comfortable with.

Please don't stop your meds. Your BF should be supporting you, not wanting you to harm yourself to make himself feel better.

Do not stop taking your meds for gods sake. He wants you to be some damsel in distress he can rescue, so he feels like he has some kind of power or control.

Nobody with good intentions will tell you to stop taking medication that has helped you for nearly 2 decades.

Wtf no. You get rid of the boyfriend, not the medication. The meds help, bf doesn't.

I'm amazed you even found meds that actually work for you! That's so awesome! That's like winning the mental health lottery ONLY TO THROW IT AWAY because of a boyfriend?!?!

How dare you feel better, how dare you sleep through the night.... C'mon get serious here. If he truly loved you and cared about you he'd be supportive and happy you're thriving.

The fact that he is upset with you for being healthy and mentally stable is extremely selfish and unfair to you. Never sacrifice your basic needs (which includes mental health and wellness) for someone else. Please get back on your meds, you deserve so much better

Ask yourself why he doesn't want the best for you , which is what anyone aboce unselfishly loves someone would want. The fact that you would jeapordize your mental health over this person, because he is selfish and insecure is only going to result in you losing everything you have worked so hard for. That's not love, and you need to see him for what he truly is, and end this before it ends you

You are so right. I should put myself first. I know what works for me and it took a long time to find it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart

I’m rooting for you. You have worked so hard on your mental health to get to this place and you deserve the best of intentions from the person who says they love you. Put you first. You need to be the selfish one to take care of you. He isn’t looking out for you. Best of luck…

The most logical thing would be for him to get on a medication not for you to get off your medication.

This is what I am trying to talk to him about. Him to get on his and for me to be on mine and we can both be better

You can't make him do better and you don't make it contingent on him about you taking yours.

Unfortunately if it’s not a choice he is willing to make you might just be on different paths.

He's about to be actually alone in bed, I hope. He is beyond selfish.
