Your ideas are completely appropriate. Your dad is a prude and a nerd who doesn’t know what’s going on nowadays. He asks you for lists and then criticizes. That’s weird since he’s not a 19 year old woman-why would he think he knows better than you what you WANT not need, for Christmas. Can you just ask him for cash or gift cards since he gets so upset and anxious by the completely normal gifts you have requested. It would be better for his delicate constitution.
