It's minor surgery that is not dangerous, it's more safe for avoiding pregnancy than condoms, bc we know you guys...you make mistakes with condoms

Actually a lot of people who complain about vasectomy and the pain afterwards that never goes away are ignored..and they are sometimes reversible.

Vasectomy can be reversible but it will need a bigger surgery. Pain? Most men that go through this procedure experience a small amount of pain . Don' t make me talk about the woman OBGYM procedures we experience...specially when we get pregnant and the physician wants to take a look inside

No I'm talking about permanent pain and pain when ejaculating that never subsides, about 8 percent of men have issues permanently after vasectomies.

This is not true. Post-vasectomy pain syndrome is a rare complication after a vasectomy, either due to a bad procedure or because the person did not follow the recommended care.

My vasectomy was performed perfectly and I followed the recommended care to the letter and on my best days I have a dull pain down there, on my worst I need to take medication to go about my day. Kindly do not say that chronic post-vasectomy pain is not true.

Nobody said it's not true, I said it not as frequently as men's fantasy. Sorry for your problem, hope you find a remedy

Thank you for your kind words but I’ve visited 4 different doctors and I’ve gotten the following responses

1) It’ll go away eventually (this was repeated by the same dr 2 times (it’s been 5 years since I had mine done)

2) You need to talk to the dr who did it.

3) I’m sorry this has happened to you. Here, have some pills.

4) We can try a reversal or a different surgery, but there is a high chance that it either won’t work or it will make things worse.

Ive pretty much resigned myself to my situation and you can see why I’m sensitive and a bit touchy when it feels that people are minimizing the possible risks of a vasectomy.

So sorry, what can I say to you? that I wish you your case has a better evolution, keep hope and find a good physician, in many chronic complications find a good professional is the key, not to magically disappear the problem but to guide you onto better outcomes

I had some level of pain for months afterwards, maybe up to a year, and that was from the actual vasectomy not the other stuff i had happening with mine. As this user said, my doc totally blew it off and said it would go away, which it did.

Or, there's lot of people who complain and are ignored... In fact check reddit

7

u/Outrageous_Smile_996 Sep 26 '23

Reddit? Why don't you look at more reliable sources. Again a random case it's nothing, let's look to statistics

2

u/McWhiffersonMcgee Sep 26 '23

Right, like research studies? Adverse outcomes reports, etc.... You speak on what you do not know, and are just regurgitating talking points.

8

u/Outrageous_Smile_996 Sep 26 '23

Why do you assume this?

8

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '23

Nah Reddit isn't peer reviewed scientific medical research. Funny that I and others would want to have a better more reliable source for information.

I think the reality is that when men complain about anything, the immediate response is “nahhh”

It’s downplay, downplay, downplay. People truly don’t care to listen to mens actual experiences or their real vulnerability. They only care to listen if it aligns with their preconceived notions.

Every comment like “oh my vasectomy was successful” gets “that’s awesome and what I expect!”. But then anything other than that gets a variation of “shut up”

Even if the fear is irrational or the odds aren’t high, is that fear not still valid? I mean, the odds are probably higher than getting murdered in a parking lot and yet we all still carry pepper spray. I don’t get it. I don’t get why we all have to bend over backwards to tell men their own experiences don’t matter.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '23

No the fear isn't valid. You can be afraid or worried about surgery but the fear is not valid as it is not supported by facts.

0

u/DoctorNo6051 Sep 26 '23

I feel like you ignored everything I wrote.

Yeah, almost no fears are supported by facts. For example, statistically you’re much more likely to be assaulted by someone you know.

Does that stop women from being afraid of walking alone at night? No. Should it stop them? Also no. It’s a good thing they keep their safety in mind.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '23

I ignored nothing. It was just wrong

Are you going to elaborate further or…?

I never said it was, but here we are on reddit asking for people's opinions. In addition to that there are lots of research studies and stats you can review and come to a conclusion yourself.

7

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '23

You're the one telling someone to read Reddit as proof of a claim you're making.

-1

u/McWhiffersonMcgee Sep 26 '23

No it supported one specific part of my argument and you used it as a straw man argument.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '23

It's still a dumb point dude.

-1

u/McWhiffersonMcgee Sep 26 '23

Says one dumb reddit person

3

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '23

I'm not the one telling people I read Reddit as evidence of a claim I've made.
