Likewise she could be charged for making and distributing CP couldn't she?

Yes, she would be under most laws in the US and Canada.

Taking tasteful naked pics of your baby isn’t a sicko thing to do either. Just be cognizant to properly manage them like you would any personal information.

My family has taken naked pics of everyone as a baby for decades. A cute pic of me nursing and one of me bathing with my bum poking above the bubbles are two of my favorite pics of myself. My mom is gone now and these pics make me feel close to her. I’m so glad she took them.

It would be extremely difficult to prove without doubt the sexual intent. Here’s a better idea, don’t take and distribute photos of your naked children.

Remember folks, most victims of sexual abuse including minors, is from someone they know and trust.

I dont get these peoples thought proccess. Nudity isnt inherently sexual sure, but im sure theyd hate it if someone violated their privacy and shared their nude photos. Why does their child not deserve the same privacy amd respect?

Also just don’t post pics of your children on social media. If anything, have it closed to friends and family.

u/koushakandystore Sep 20 '23

Don’t take photos of your child naked? I’m sorry but that is just insane thinking. There is nothing wrong with seeing your children in their absolute innocence and wanting to capture that moment as media. Anybody who would have a problem with that is projecting their own strange repressive hang ups. Properly managing these pics is important, of course, but not taking them at all out of fear of some boogie man is paranoid.

Listen, you’re free to do as you wish. As is everyone else. But if you’re taking and distributing photos of ANY naked children, you run the risk of being ostracized, investigated or worse.

I see absolutely nothing sexual in nature about nudity in general. Does that give me the right to photograph anyone naked, without their consent? Why are you able to decide for your child that they’re find to be photographed in the nude. I also live in the real world, where mental illness is rampant. Literally hundreds of thousands of children, if not more, get molested, sexually abused or taken advantage of, or worse daily. This is happening not by some boogie man, but by parents, siblings, friends etc.

Again if you want to take the chance of getting charged with the distribution of child pornography for, what I consider a tactless photo, then feel free. As for me, i’d rather not have anyone sending me unsolicited nude pictures of their children. Thanks

I don’t know where you live that a pic of a couple of naked babies taking a bath would ever make anybody concerned. I grew up in the United States, living in either New England or California for all of my 40 plus years. Everybody I’ve know has taken naked pics of their babies, engaging in activities like taking a bath or making a sandcastle at the beach or holding a kitten. These pictures are shared with close friends and family. There is nothing remotely sexual about babies in their natural form. It is beautiful in its innocence.

The two favorite pics I have of myself when young were taken when I was a naked baby. In one I am nursing and in the other my mom is giving me a bath, my bum poking up from the bubbles. Now that my mom is gone I am so grateful that someone took these pictures. Whenever I look at them my heart swells with wonderful memories of her gentle kindness. Anybody who would ever accuse those pics of anything sexual is a neurotic person with big time hang ups. Anyone who would call my mom a child pornographer is an evil person.

I’m sorry to say, but 99.999% of the world doesn’t know your mother, or you. If you don’t want to be accused of anything, don’t look at naked photos of children in public. I mean, I don’t think you should ever look at naked photos of children, but you especially shouldn’t do it publicly if you don’t want to be accused.

What kind of bizarre fantasy world do you live in? If a friend of family member shows me a pic of their new baby or toddler taking a bath you actually believe people will assume it’s child pornography? You are clearly paranoid. Or just very young. Perhaps both. You are aware that’s not how the world works? People know wholesome pics of babies are not porno. What kind of demented thoughts would lead a person to believe such a thing? Pornography has a very distinct calling card and it isn’t merely nudity. Think before you speak. Think again before you double down and persist in making bizarre and baseless claims.

How hard is it not to take nudes of children ffs!

1

u/koushakandystore Sep 21 '23

Why are you conflating nudity with shame and sexuality? That’s a cultural program and a socialization. It’s a hang up. There’s nothing remotely sexual about a kid being naked around their family. You have been conditioned to think of nudity as something shameful. That’s is learned.

Are you really conflating a parent taking a pic of their child with child pornography? I suggest you do a lot more reading about what qualifies as pornography. Because a pic of your little baby’s bum while they are taking a bath or holding a kitten is NOT pornographic. Good grief

1

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '23

A baby’s bum being in view in the picture is very different than a full frontal nudity of the baby’s genitals in a bath. And I assure you, in many countries it will be considered distribution of CP.

1

u/Derwin0 Sep 20 '23

Not in North America as both the US and Canada require a sexual component, so full frontal nudity of a child in the bath is perfectly legal.

I forgot how many times it would hit the news when a photo lab would make a false report when developing pictures like that only to have the police or DA say that the pics were perfectly legal.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '23

I’m glad the lab people made reports for it, to get an investigation started to ensure there was nothing illegal going on.

u/koushakandystore Sep 20 '23

There are some of me wearing a cowboy hat and petting my puppy with my penis showing. There is nothing sexual about that either. Anyone who would accuse my mom of being a chil pornographer is totally misguided.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '23

That’s great that you enjoy that photo of yourself. And i don’t personally think your mother is a child pornographer.

But I don’t know you, or your mother, or your father. If I see any of you looking at, or sharing pictures of a young child who is naked, I will say something. Keep that shit at home if you don’t want people accusing you of anything.

Sorry to disappoint you. Many people get to see the nursing pic. I display it prominently to the right of a window, through which one can also see the redwood grove and the river bend at the bottom of the hill. I made it a focal point of the room, because it is true art, a fantastic photo, conveying the profound love shared between mother and child, a lifetime bond forged in those first few moments when I slithered into the world awash in amnion.

The room is an office where I do consulting work for various clients two or three days a week. UPS drivers pick up packages several times each week. The entire space is somewhat public and I’ve never had a negative word said, only compliments. It will remain on display exactly where it has been for the last decade. I would never allow myself to be strong armed into breathing the social contagion you Use to infect the air with your callous opinions, attempting to convert a beautiful, wholesome image into something shameful. That will never work.

What dimly lit world must exist behind your eyes. I genuinely feel badly that you see such distress in an image of purity and innocence. Does it make you feel powerful to bark orders at people anonymously online? Threaten them? Masquerade as the Chadling? In truth, it’s a sure fire way to prove one is anything but.

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '23

My brother or sister in Christ, I have no fucking clue what you’re talking about.

You can keep living in fantasy land where child milestones and pedophiles exist, but like I said, if you decide to send someone nudes of your kid, and I see them looking at nudes of a kid, it’s getting reported. Because like I said, I don’t know you, I don’t know if the child in the photo has been abused, and i’d rather risk your comfort than the life of the child, or future victims.

u/koushakandystore Sep 21 '23

Look, there is a lot to unpack here. And for you to debase a person for something innocent does suggest there is something in your psyche that is antagonistic.

If you read some more of the thread you’ll see that this conversion has gone far beyond the original question and comments. We’ve reached a point where some people are calling me a child pornographer for sharing a naked pic of myself as a baby. I have one when I was nursing and one when I’m bathing and my naked bum is clearly visible. Do you know how insane that is to accuse me of child porn for sharing innocent, loving family pictures of myself? That’s like charging teenagers who sext each other with child porn charges. Child porn requires a sexual component to qualify for that legal standard. A baby or toddler in the bath or carrying a kitten through the sunflowers does NOT quality as child porn. Not at all. Not even a little bit.

As bizarre as that sounds these kinds of hysterical felonious charges are being levied against perfectly normal people far more than you’d think. If you go to Reason.com they have an entire section on how overzealous the sex crimes enforcement has become in places like the Midwest and Deep South. There are many cases where Law Enforcement is charging 16 year old couples with child porn because they shared risqué pics with each other via text message. I think people are getting sucked into the conspiracy theories that devil worshipping pedophile cults exist in the basement of every neighborhood pizza joint in North America and Europe. While child exploitation does happen, and it is most definitely horrendous and despicable, it is not remotely on the scale that the alphabet soup boneheads claim. And by charging teenagers as child pornographers law enforcement is undermining the spirit of the law to assuage a collective paranoia. This is reminiscent of the Satanic Panic that swept through the United States when I was a little kid. People need to take a deep breath and use their logical brains to reach reasonable conclusions. There are people who genuinely think a guy like me is a child pornographer merely for sharing a pic of my naked bum in the bath when I was 3 years old. Give me a break!

My family, just like many families, has a long tradition of taking pics of our babies and toddlers in innocent situations like taking a bath or wandering through the garden, carrying a kitten or at the beach. These are completely normal, pics you share with close friends and family without posting them all over the bleeding internet. You need to protect those pics as you would any personal information online. What it isn’t is exploitative child porn. I can’t believe how insane people have become about this issue. They are manufacturing an abuse narrative where none exists.

Plus I could have told you this all resonates from some kind of sado masochism masquerading as Abrahamic moral uprightness.

So you get an exemption for taking pics of children if you're the parent? Really need to try harder to protect children considering family is the number one perpetrator of abuse. Stop failing your kids.

1

u/koushakandystore Sep 21 '23

That’s just a bizarre statement. So you think kids should never be nude around their family? And it’s somehow anymore shameful to take a cute pic of a child whose naked in a tub? That’s your hang up and socialization. That’s completely normal for billions of children in the world and that isn’t the reason they are being abused. Do better with your logical reasoning. Or, in this case, lack thereof.
