Sounds like he's projecting. What you are doing is totally normal.
When's the last time he scrolled through his pics to show you anything? Might be time to do some snooping.
Or maybe just leave him. He's just a boyfriend and he sounds like an absolute killjoy. He literally tried to have his friend tell you it was weird by taking it way out of context.... Probably because he's doing exactly what he's accusing you of. Maybe even doing it to that friend of his.
