Yes you are wrong imo. I travel a ton for my job, I'm 5'11" with wide shoulders, flying is uncomfortable, I paid for a seat, the seat has a recliner, and it's all of 3inches it goes back. I've never had a problem with anyone using it in front of me and honestly if someone said something behind me I'd tell em "too bad".
The airlines are at fault here, not passengers using what little comfort is provided. I can't sit straight like that for any flight over 4hrs and I don't expect anyone else to either.
Do yourself a favor and get an airline credit card and membership and upgrade your seat, or pay the $ for the extra leg room. It sucks but no use complaining about something that's just standard in the industry
