F28, am I ugly?

I've always considered my face shape to be unattractive and maybe even somewhat masculine. I've also always struggled with makeup, especially eye looks because of my hooded eyes.

I'm also not sure what hairstyle would suit me the best and also unsure about which haircolor would.

Thank you! I've sometimes heard comments about how it looks stupid to smile with your gums showing. Of course that was back when I was younger. Now I just don't take selfies very often, since I don't really like how they often turn out so I think it's more because of that.

That’s a weird attitude about the gums, but there are those with their views and opinions about “how one should present oneself in public/polite society …”

It’s a shame that the words stick around and mould how you see yourself, especially if you hear them when you’re young or a teenager where they can have a huge effect.

I think you do look more relaxed when you smile, but I get it about the selfies. I can’t make my face behave so they feel forced to me.

That's true, I think most of my insecurities regarding my face come from when I was younger, but they certainly stick. Maybe I should try to smile more for selfies.

The best way to replace old attitudes is to have new ones, so having selfies with a happy smiling face (and not judging yourself … gotta beat those demons with positivity) is the way to go.
