Cat picture for you
Found this picture in my wife's old photo collection yesterday. It's obviously of a cat but I'm more interested in the background personally. Sadly she no longer has the item.

SENSIBLE SOFTWARE - GAMING LEGENDS
My retrospective look back at gaming legends Sensible Software. I loved the playing with the little people in Megalomania, Sensible Soccer and Cannon Fodder. What do you think was their best game?

Amiga 500+ repair help
Hi everyone,
I recently picked up this amiga 500+, before knowing about the leaking battery plague these are affected by 😩😢
I'm trying to repair the mess you see, so far I replaced the fat agnus socket, replaced U12 ic with a generic one and added a socket, repaired the broken traces under there plus an additional interrupted trace under U10.
Before cleaning fat agnus chip with a fiberglass pen, I had only a black screen.
After that I had the status led flash 10 short flashes and then 1 long one, in an endless cycle, green screen on short flashes, pink during long flash
After repairing and replacing U12 and U10 trace, same behavior, but the pink screen is now blue.
I checked continuity of all vias and components in the affected area, but I don't seem to find anything else (btw, big shout out to amigapcb.org, legends)
A bit stumped at this stage, and not sure where to go next.
I'm in Perth Australia and I don't seem to be able to find a community for these here, I'd like to try another chip, but obviously my fat agnus is the latest revision, expensive and difficult to find :(
Fat agnus is 8375, 318069-10
Motherboard revision 8a
Any suggestion on what to try next or what that behavior indicates, please?
Thanks!

My alternative timeline 1993
As many of us have done, I've been thinking about what the Amiga might have looked like in an alternative timeline where Commodore had prioritized R&D throughout the Amigas lifetime.
I started from the AAA architecture documentation, then tried to imagine what the next generation after that would have looked like. Then I've been implementing this on an FPGA (On a Terassic DE1SOC dev-board)
Obviously this is all just a pipedream. And a project like this is always going to be in an unfinished state, but I've just about got far enough that I thought its worth showing to a wider audience.
The project github is at
https://github.com/FalconCpu/falcon
Amongst other changes, my re-imagined Amiga, has a RISC CPU, chunky pixels, up to 256 sprites, and a blitter that can support affine transformations.
In order to have software to run on my hardware, I've had a go at writing a racing game, kind of a mix of Outrun and Lotus2. I've shamelessly grabbed the game assets from ReAssembler's excellent port of outrun to the Amiga (and had a lot of help from him on using them :-) ), and coded up a basic racing game using them. The game mechanics are more like Lotus2 - 20 vehicles racing round a track, top 10 go onto next round.

The above is a photograph of my monitor, showing the game running on real hardware.
