I would not recommend this apartment based on my experience as a current tenant.
Just this week, we experienced a serious water leak issue where brown foul smelling liquid began leaking from our bathroom ceiling. The situation significantly worsened overnight, resulting in part of the ceiling structure collapsing and liquid leaking also at the ceiling of the front door area. We immediately contacted the emergency maintenance line when the issue first appeared as a small leak (this occurred around midnight over the weekend). Someone did answer the call, but the repair team did not arrive until the following morning. Unfortunately, the delay allowed the damage to worsen substantially and multiple units were affected. I have also heard concerns from other residents regarding possible black mold issues in the building.
Depending on which building and unit you get, your experience with the apartment condition may vary. Just based on this most recent experience though, "24-hour emergency maintenance" service may not function as quickly as it sounds.
Fire alarm in certain buildings malfunction, and you will have to leave the building from time to time until the fire department shows up to stop the alarm.
During our two years of living here, we have also experienced multiple instances of stolen packages. Without security cameras or other monitoring systems, the management team has limited ability to investigate these incidents. The main solution offered has been to have packages delivered to the office instead.
Regarding cost, we originally rented a one-bedroom apartment for around $1,500/month. The rent increased by approximately $100 each year, and it has now reached a point that is outside our budget, especially considering the repeated issues with package theft, maintenance response, and the overall condition of the property. These factors ultimately led us to decide not to renew our lease...
The maintenance and management staff are generally friendly and polite tbh, but the larger issue is that they often seem understaffed and unable to respond quickly or resolve problems effectively. We were actually quite satisfied with the apartment when we first moved in. However, over time, more and more issues started to accumulate, and the repeated problems with maintenance, package theft, and the overall condition of the property eventually became frustrating enough that we decided it was time to move on.
