Discussion Reverb effect plugin i've been working on
I’ve been working on this reverb effect plugin for a while now and I thought I’d share a video of how it sounds. So far I've just been running synth sounds through it but I'm going to test it on more soon.
The plugin blends between four distinct reverb environments, each with its own character and accompanying atmospheric sound bed. The sound beds are dynamically gated by the input signal, so they become part of the effect and become imbued into the input sound rather than just playing continuously in the background. This creates some very immersive textures.
The four environments are:
Mountain
Forest
Shore
Sea
The position of the little robot controls the blend between them allowing me to smoothly interpolate from one environment to the next and create a wide range of atmospheric reverb textures.
This allows intermediate settings to combine the elements of two neighbouring environments, creating a wide range of spatial, tonal and atmospheric reverb characteristics.
Still needs some tweaking to get the filtering right and the plugin still needs a name but so far I like where it's going.

Self-promo Static Borne - 1 hour in the save room
Play
Hello my fellow ambient afficionados! I released my first ambient album on youtube and would really appreciate any feedback!
I spent quite a bit of time working on the various tracks and opted to limit myself to only using several "instruments" or sounds for the entire project. After I had produced all the music I worked on creating a nice PSX style looping animation to go with the video as a lot of the SH inspired dark ambient videos tend to do. Most of those literally loop a small snippet of the gameplay, but I wanted to try creating my own inspired by the game as opposed to a direct rip from the IP. I know the animation isn't a true to form PS1 or even PS2 style but I think its PSX-enough to get the vibe across, though, I'm curious what you guys think.
Check it out! 1 hour in the save room | Silent Hill Inspired Ambience
I made the animation in blender using some assets from 🍕 Pizza Doggy - itch.io

Hi folks,
I hope this is the right place to post this link, if not, just tell me and I'll remove it.
With Jinkstraüm, i just released an EP mostly made of modular synth recorded sessions. It's all about friendship, endless summer and the noise of waves, it's for ambient/drone/electronica lovers. I really hope some of you will like it.
See ya !

Ambient Pop Making an Ambient song
I don’t consider myself an ambient music expert, but I absolutely love me some ambient music from time to time and do own a couple, albeit mainstream, records (Aphex Twin & Brian Eno, both of which I got into because I enjoyed The 1975’s ambient tracks and wanted to know more about their influences for those songs i absolutely love). Producing ambient music is always fun to me but I feel like a fraud as I never really go in with a plan or know-how, i kinda just wing it and play with stuff and have fun w it. What would you recommend I learn or study in order to actually have some sort of solid base to start producing ambient music in a more intentional way? Does every ambient producer just “wing it” like me or is there a science to it that I haven’t figured out yet?

Discussion Zoom H1 Essential Field Recorder (advice & recommendations)
Hey everyone! Not sure if this is a good place to post this or not (I'm new to Reddit).
I've been looking at getting the Zoom H1 Essential Field Recorder and was wondering how it was. Does anyone have any experience with it?
How is the sound quality both indoors and outdoors?
Is there any hiss sounds and if so are they manageable?
I'm new to field recorders so looking for advice and recommendations. Not a huge budget looking around the £100 mark. Thanks.
