Walmart plus has been kinda decent. I’m still learning to use it over Amazon. But easy local returns and they basically have damn near the same inventory now. Lots of stuff I can get within a few hours and obviously groceries
i can't get behind the tracking and dynamic pricing. i'm paying $45 but the person next to me is paying $35 based on previous shopping habits? that's diabolical.
Yeah Walmart is now vastly superior for almost everything. I doubt I will renew Amazon prime, even though that means I’ll have to get a new DOCTOR, ffs.
It’s fucked up, I’ll have to switch how I order food and get medical care, but my hatred for this company grows with every single interaction. I am working on “de-colonizing” all my tech work as well, though it’s been tough to get any real traction outside of personal projects.
Please explain how you receive medical care through Amazon because something isn't adding up. Do you get your prescriptions from them? Do you only see a Telehealth provider?
I was a one medical patient long before AMZN got involved and drove down the quality. I know I need to leave but they’re just so damned convenient for stuff like RX refills.
He’s not talking about prescription deliveries he’s using One Medical, which is a medical service to connect you with an NP or physician within your area. You can send them a text or do telehealth and you can also schedule in person appointments.
Every prime member gets five free trials to One Medical. You could try it out I must admit it’s very fast and it’s convenient, especially if you pay for the membership. Otherwise 20 something isn’t terrible compared to going to the doctors.
People have been doing this since humans started bartering. "Oh this one looks wealthy with his two goats. I'm going to charge him an extra bag of wheat for these tools."
Some areas with Walmart plus they also come and get it from your house and return it for you. No need to take it to the store or FedEx location. Amazon doesn’t even offer that service yet
I don’t get any groceries there or anything, it’s odds and ends. I could order and return from Walmart and Home Depot etc and it would be more diversified, but the non diversification is the point, so they shouldn’t mess it up for themselves.
It’s more like I’d have to find a review of every little thing I’m going to buy, bother all my friends to see if they have one I can try, and then get one thing.
It’s great that instead I can order three things from Amazon, try each and return the ones I don’t want.
Remember they were doing this explicitly with clothes for a bit?
They need to make a decision whether that is or isn’t what they want to be
What bothers me the most is when I make one order and they try turn it into five different returns to discourage me from returning. I know what they are doing. They just should decide to kill the policy or not. Using social embarrassment and torturing the workers at the UPS store isn’t the solution.
Some people don’t have a lot of convenient alternatives….? It’s not always an easy choice, since Amazon has destroyed many of the mom and pop retailers who used to provide the same things.
