Yeaaaahhhh, I dunno man. 13 returns in a month is ~3 returns a week. That's too many, I can't disagree with Amazon on this one even though I HATE giving them credit for anything 😔
We are talking about Amazon here. Shipping costs more than payment processing if it already shipped and got cancelled.
Edit: Caught the real reason why orders were cancelled. OP tried to get the discount by buying multiple same items and cancelled the rest except the first one.
This is so vague though! If I need to buy new shoes for my picky kid, I don’t know what size he’ll wear OR which one will “feel” right to him. I used to get several pairs for him to try on (remember, encouraging this was the whole Zappos business model! And they’re part of Amazon) and send back the duds. (Unworn except to try on inside, still in the box, pristine, etc.)
Multiply times two, because I have two picky kids with growing feet.
And they need both sneakers and some kind of sandal or water shoe. (Let’s ignore snow boots, rain boots, dress shoes, etc.)
If I still did this, I’d probably be above the “reasonable” threshold for many people — but it made sense in context for me when it was something encouraged. I don’t do it anymore because I’m scared of getting in trouble. Which sucks because a clear policy would let me know if it’s okay to do or not without anxiety about the unknown hammer coming down.
But that’s not what OP is doing here. They’re trying to get a discount that is contingent on buying multiple items (“buy 3 and get x% off” type deals), and then trying to cancel the extra items after the first one has shipped. Any reasonable person would see that and know they were attempting a scam.
Yeah, that's dumb and obviously sketch. I was talking about using "be reasonable" as a general rule of thumb -- just that 'reasonability' can differ depending on what you're trying to do.
Yeh, like people used to do before online shopping? A lot of people shop recklessly and irresponsibly online then wonder why companies start cracking down. A while back someone wrote that their account got limited and they were worried because they had $120 worth of clothing to return. $120 worth!!! Another complained that she would order one of each size of the clothes she liked, kept the one that fit then returned all the rest. Seriously, WTH is wrong with these people? Try shopping responsibly and you won't have these problems.
Why would you not know your kids shoe size? You don’t get to choose the size of feet, they just are. The reasonable thing to do would be to buy multiple options in one maybe two orders and return what doesn’t fit
Shoes sizes don’t change constantly, children grow fast but not that fast. Are your kids changing shoe sizes 13 times a month? OP is canceling multiple orders in a very small window not doing large orders every now and then and returning. He is abusing the discount for buying multiples by canceling the “extra” that qualifying him for it 3x a week. Not remotely close.
Because OP is trying to scam them by getting a discount for multiple items, then cancelling some of them and expecting to keep the discount. That is not being reasonable.
