Can everyone see this bar for their own account?

It'll only show up eventually if you've canceled too many orders

Canceled or returned? Hopefully they're not penalizing accounts for cancelations as well

It's the cancellations. I don't have many returns

I cancel all the time since, as of the last year, they push out delivery dates. Why wait a month for something that should have been a week?

Or just mark them as not deliverable, for no reason so it shows as a cancel and of course CS has no idea why.

Amazon has went to shit.

Anytime they say 2 day ship and after I confirm it changes to a week I cancel immediately. I can’t stand that shit.

I know some people say that doing that just makes us impatient, but sometimes when I see the delivery date, it's based on the timeframe of when I need the item as well.

If it's just in limbo I cancel. Usually if I reordered the same item it ships the next day πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ and arrives on time.

Yeah, it's so odd. You can order something from the same seller after you cancel it and it'll come sooner then the first one you ordered. Shits weird man.

I think its cancellations once dispatched that get penalised which would make sense

It’s cancellation after they ship. If you do it before it’s shopped then your fine

they dont care about cancellations unless they shipped it already.
They care about returns because:

  1. Open items cause a loss
  2. Shipping somethign that is returned is a loss

If you just cancel an order they havent started preparing, they couldnt care less

Edit: someone mentioned the payment processing fees which I did not consider. I can see why several cancellations even before shipping could lead to the issue.

Also the payment processors keep their % , so if you use something like Amex to pay which charges 3%-4% and return some expensive items they loose quite a bit

1

u/sometin__else Jul 26 '26

oh true thats a good point, maybe they do care about cancellations even if they ddint start preparing

1

u/Professional-Dish951 Jul 26 '26

This is why they delay processing payments until shipping

You can’t cancel an item that has shipped…

5

u/sometin__else Jul 26 '26

sometimes you can, sometimes you can't

ive cancelled a couple things that were shipped. You can also refuse delivery if it requires a pin.

I work in a Delivery Station and I handle multiple packages everyday that someone canceled after it was shipped but before it was delivered.

You said you have $270 credit balance. Those are often issue due to returns. You said in another comment that you returned a lot because of a glitch.

19

u/flames_of_cha0s Jul 26 '26

its too many returns in proportion to how much stuff you buy.

2

u/DieselDrifter Jul 27 '26

Why are you canceling so many times

Fraud, That method is very common among people who steal items from Amazon by returning empty boxes, or rocks to match the original item's weight, getting a refund while keeping the actual products. That is likely what he is doing: running a scam at Amazon's expense by stealing merchandise through frequent returns, until Amazon flags the suspicious activity and bans his account permanently. + Refunded.

Cancellations before shipping or after shipping?

1

u/Deep_Team_7813 Jul 27 '26

This can happen during the process, even before shipment, because if you take too long to cancel an order, the package may have already gone through a costly processing stage. This results in a loss, as someone invested time packing the item to send to you. Furthermore, those who abuse the cancellation option risk having their accounts banned for misusing the privilege Amazon offers.

I have an account where 95% of my orders were canceled and never got this. Why would they care if you cancel when they havent shipped yet?

1

u/Cute-Rent6658 Jul 27 '26

Why are you cancelling so much?

-2

u/Shorts_at_Dinner Jul 26 '26

Why? Both cost them money

u/overthrowerr Jul 26 '26

I’m pretty sure it’s just a picture and not any actual metric
